Ashleigh Sergeant

Born with a painful spine condition, Ashleigh Sergeant's yoga-instructing mother first introduced her to the world of yoga at an early age.

After years of dedicated exploration into the field, Ashleigh now lives pain free and is dedicated to sharing the healing power of yoga with others. As the youngest ever Certified Anusara yoga teacher, she is currently the Global Yoga Trainer for Adidas and is registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 500 level.

On the global circuit with Adidas, Ashleigh works with some of the top performance coaches and professional athletes in the world. Her strong focus on the therapeutic application of yoga has made her a much sought after asset in the performance world and she is constantly using her work and experience to regularly expand her knowledge of how to incorporate yoga into the mainstream world of athletics, health and fitness. Ashleigh works with numerous athletes and coaches in China, Europe and the US and leads teacher trainings and large scale classes in Europe, Asia and South America.

Inspired by her mother's dedication to Power yoga and her first teachers, including Bryan Kest and Baron Baptist, Ashleigh Sergeant strives to spread the profound teachings of yoga and is known for her focused, concise and approachable teaching style. She received her first 200-HR teaching certification at the Himalayan Institute with a strong influence from Rod Stryker's ParaYoga.

In 2008, Ashleigh traveled with and assisted John Friend, the founder of Anusara yoga, which empowered her exponential growth and greatly expanded her knowledge of biomechanics and yoga therapy. After completing multiple Anusara Teacher and Therapeutic Trainings with John, Ashleigh now brings thousands of hours of global study to her teaching.

Ashleigh uses her passion and drive to regularly present at the Wanderlust Festival, co-direct Danyasa yoga Arts Trainings in Costa Rica, and film online yoga classes with Gaia. She has contributed to Mind Body Green, Latin Women's Health and German Yoga Journal.

Throughout her diverse global travels, Ashleigh's deep-seated belief that true transformation begins with dedicated self-inquiry and mindfulness in life's most local situations is consistently reconfirmed.

Ashleigh (I feel like I should address you as Serg), your knowledge and understanding of the way muscles move and heal are monumental. After many years of playing soccer and having poor posture, your classes have helped me open things that haven't been in a LONG time (maybe ever). You are a gifted warrior goddess and I am grateful for your presence on Gaia.

I am a new mom who suffers from chronic lower back pain. Your guidance is really helping to change my reality. I can do this from home during first nap and set my intention for a day of success instead of a cycle of aching uncomfortability. It works, Cheers!
