Janet Stone

San Francisco-based Janet Stone is a global yoga warrior who has been featured in Mind Body Green, Yoga Journal, and the Wanderlust festival.

Her journey as a yogi began at age 17 when she traveled to India, the birthplace of her grandfather. There she met a powerful yogi and became dedicated to a conscious evolution through yoga.

Now, after decades of studentship, Janet Stone teaches workshops, teacher trainings, festivals, conferences, and retreats all over the world. As a servant to the breath, her classes are strong, sweaty, and filled with humor and heart. Janet uses her deeply nurturing and empowering spirit to create a unique, vigorous-yet-sumptuous approach to Vinyasa yoga that effortlessly melds awareness with movement, breath and voice. As a student of this heart journey, Janet finds inspiration by blending a wealth of knowledge and yoga experience into each and every class.

As an impassioned and devoted mama, Janet currently follows the teachings of her two young daughters, India and Lilianna, who shed light on all things profound and wondrous.

    Janet, I hope to one day make it to your studio to learn from you and share space directly, but until then, you must know how grateful I am for you as a teacher, a human, and a divine presence in this world. With your help I have expanded my abilities as a yogi tenfold, and have healed spiritually through your guidance. I always recommed you to my friends, family and fellow yogis who are looking to either get started with vinyasa or who need to amplify their existing practice. It is my honor to share your practices with those I love, and also to spread your light to the rest of the world. I'll be starting your 7 day Bali retreat for the thrid time today, and what perfect timing to balance and tune in just before Christmas gets crazy!     We actually have a Fundamentals of Yoga Beginner's Guide launching on Oct 14th. Sign up for the Guide begins on Saturday. I would strongly recommend enrolling... it's part of your membership :) Also, you can search the word "beginner" and look for a class that feels good for you. Let us know if you have any other questions!
