John Major Jenkins

Inspired by living and working among the Highland Maya, John Major Jenkins is an independent researcher devoted to reconstructing ancient Mayan cosmology and philosophy.

Best known for his works theorizing certain astronomical and esoteric connections of the Mayan calendar system, John Major Jenkins is a pioneer in the 2012 conversation. He has helped to build a school in San Pedro, Guatemala, and delivered relief supplies to a Quich´┐Ż Maya community in the Western highlands of Guatemala. Since beginning his odyssey of research and discovery with the Maya, Jenkins has authored dozens of articles and many books.
