How do I edit my profile or profile photo?
Add some personality and tell other members about yourself with personal profiles. All profile information can be edited under the Preferences tab of the My Account area. Below we'll walk through how to update your profile photo, location, and bio along with other profile settings.
You can update your location and bio information in the Profile section of the Preferences tab. You can add anything as your location; whether you’re located in Louisville, CO like Gaia, or in a state of being like the peak of Samsara.
On your personal homepage, click the profile image with Upload Your Photo or navigate to the Account section of the Preferences tab to upload your favorite photo. Use something that shows your personality and your role in the community.
Select whether or not to share your profile information with other Gaia members under the Profile section of the Preferences tab. Simply check the box for set my profile to private and save changes. A public profile will only be shown to members who have logged in. Share, collaborate and comment to increase your knowledge and be a part of the community.
Can I make my profile private?
Yes, visit My Account, at the bottom of the Profile section of the Preferences tab and select whether or not to share your profile information with other Gaia members. Simply check the box for set my profile to private and save changes.
Consider sharing your personal story and journey with the member community by making your public profile. Share, collaborate and comment with your fellow members and our teachers, instructors and hosts to keep the conversation going.
What does a “public” profile mean?
If you choose to have a public profile, only logged-in members will be able to see your profile information. Share, collaborate and comment to increase your knowledge and be an active part of the community. Non-members will NOT be able to view your profile.
I’m getting too many emails; how do I select what emails I want?
Visit the Email Preferences page and enter your email address, or from any of our emails, simply select Email Preferences in the footer. Select the channels from which you'd like to receive emails in order to enhance your personal journey.
Do videos have closed captioning?
Our standard player Adobe Flash player, supports limited use of closed captioning on PC/Mac.
A portion of our library, which includes most of our original programing, select films, documentaries and shorts, is currently close captioned and we are working to extend this feature to our entire library.
The CC button will be visible inside the player once a video has started playing. Click the CC button to turn on close captioning when available.
NOTE: This button will ONLY appear when closed captioning is available.
How can I save videos to watch later? How do I use My Playlist?
Saving to Playlist
To save videos you want to watch later, use the My Playlist feature. To save to your My Playlist section, you will need to be logged in to your account. On video pages, click Add to Playlist to watch later.
To view and edit the My Playlist section, click the My Playlist icon in your personal sidebar on the left side of any page.
Click and drag the Position Icon to reorder videos in your playlist. After saving changes, the new order will be applied for your future viewing.
The Remove from Playlist button lets you remove a video from your playlist.
How can I learn about new videos each week?
Follow any category or show to be notified of new videos in your personal Notifications feed. To follow, simply click the Follow button on a category or original show page.
Stay up to date with new content in a specific channel by editing your Email Preferences. From any of our emails, simply select Email Preferences in the footer. Select which channels you’d like to receive email notifications when new or featured videos are available.
After joining, say hello to your favorite teacher, instructor, show host or author by leaving a comment on their bio page. Tell them a little bit about yourself and why you’re interested in their videos or articles.
Comment on any video or show page and engage within the community. Get notified of replies to your comment in your personal Notifications feed and continue the discussion with other members.
What does the left hand sidebar do? What is my Personal Sidebar?
Welcome to your personal Gaia experience. Once you’ve logged in to the site, you will see a Personal Sidebar for quick navigation. This sidebar will follow you down each page as you scroll and give you quick access to your features.
This section is a place for all the videos that you have selected to watch later. Add videos from anywhere on the site to your playlist. Follow these instructions to learn how to save and edit your playlist. Time to start streaming.
What are Articles?
Our articles are curated by channel and provide additional content to expand your knowledge. You can browse articles by featured, recently added, current discussions and curated collections.
Make sure to update your Email Preferences to stay up to date with each channel’s new videos, articles and announcements.
How do I learn new yoga poses?
The Poses section under the My Yoga channel is a great resource to find and learn essential yoga poses, whether you’re having difficulty with a yoga pose or need pose modifications. Advance your yoga practice and learn new poses by viewing photos, discovering each poses' benefits, step-by-step instructions and modifications. Find what you need easily with pose categories and sorting by the English or Sanskrit names. Namaste, and good luck with your practice.
What are guides?
A guide is a curated actionable experience. These structured tools for members, are online courses in various disciplines. Guides consist of a collection of materials; video and/or written content that allow you to challenge yourself and grow.
How to Participate
Find a guide you’re interested in and get going. Sign up and get started immediately with already-published guides. By signing up, you will be notified with daily emails of that day’s content. For the new monthly guide in a challenge period, you will receive an email when the signup period has ended and the challenge guide starts.
Each month a new guide will be published. The new guide will have a specific challenge period. Participate during the challenge period to be eligible to win prizes and donations to our Give and Get partners. Make sure to sign up during the registration period to get an email notification when the challenge period begins.
Use the bottom menu bar to navigate through guide days and get a sneak peek of upcoming day content.
By participating in a guide during the challenge period, you are eligible to win prizes and donations provided by our partners. Make sure to be active in the daily discussions, as well as watch and read all videos and articles for that day.
Register for a guide and receive daily guide emails with that day’s content. Stay up to date with your guides and be inspired in your morning inbox.
Mark each day as completed on its overview page once you’ve watched the videos, read the articles and participated in the discussion. Marking a guide day as completed will update the guide landing page with your current day.
This will help you keep track of your progress, especially if you are participating in multiple guides. There’s no limit, so learn at your own pace and expand your practice.
Share guides with your friends on social media and participate together. Challenge your friends to expand their practice and grow with you. Make friends in the daily discussions and learn from the community.
Why can’t I start the guide today?
Each month a new guide is posted. New guides have a pre-registration period and a challenge period. If you sign up during the registration period, you will be notified when the guide challenge period begins.
You can participate in all other guides at any time. Just visit the Guides page under each channel to select a guide and get started today!
Can I start a guide that isn’t in a Challenge Period?

My Video Isn’t Playing, Troubleshooting Checklist:
The video streaming buffer is determined by your internet connection speed. If you are unsure of what it is, you can check your internet speed here. We recommend an internet connection of 1.5MBps or higher for an optimal experience.
Yes, we’d be happy to put your account on hold if you’re going out of town or traveling for an extended period of time. Please contact customer support and we will set this up for you.
Following your hold, your subscription will resume billing at the next cycle and your card will be charged.
Why aren’t my comments showing up right away?
We allow all members to comment on videos, articles, or shows. However, if you do not have an active subscription your comments are reviewed by a moderator before being posted to the live site. Comments from current members are posted immediately.
Can I show Gaia videos to a group of people?
Who are these people in the People section?
In the People section, you can learn about teachers, instructors, hosts, experts or guests in each channel. Get to know them, their background and bios, as well as see a list of their videos on Gaia.
Feel free to say hello, ask them a question or let them know how much you like their videos. Our teachers, instructors, and guests are here to pass their knowledge to the Gaia community and would love to interact with you directly.
Can I view videos internationally?
The majority of our videos are available around the world for your enjoyment. Look for the globe icon on the video page to determine the viewing rights for that specific video.
Your participation in the community is important to foster open discussion and expression. With this in mind, our community has a set of guidelines for commenting and participating.
Report undesirable content or spam
Notify us if you feel uncomfortable or see spam from other members. We reserve the right to remove content, in whole or part, that violates our Community Guidelines.
Can I stream videos on my device?
Gaia supports a variety of devices from Roku, to iPads. Check out our streaming devices to view the full list of our apps. We are always adding new devices, so if you don’t see your device, check back soon. Feel free to contact us and suggest new devices or places where you’d like to be able to stream your videos. Enjoy your videos everywhere you go.
You will need to download or install the Gaia application on your devices. Gaia offers a variety of streaming options; to see the latest streaming devices available and to help with any troubleshooting, visit the streaming devices page.

Gaia does not currently support a native application on Android phones. We’re looking into adding this feature in by March 2016. Can I stream to my Apple TV?
Get the full in-home studio experience by streaming your practice on a large screen or watch a film from the comfort of your couch with Apple TV and Airplay. You can download the Gaia App on your new 2015 Apple TV device. For older Apple TV devices, videos can be streamed from any Airplay-enabled device to your Apple TV.

How do I check to make sure my player is up to date?
If you are having trouble playing videos, buffering or loading the video page, your player may need to be updated. Please visit the link below to ensure that you have the latest version of the Adobe Flash player.
What are the minimum system requirements for viewing videos?
We are so excited you’d like to be a member. In order to watch videos on the Gaia Network you will need Adobe Flash player; DRM support is required. We also recommend that your internet connection speed is 1.5MBps or higher. If you’d like to check your speed please click here.
How do I sign up after my gift time period is over?

If your gift time period is over, you may create a new account and sign up for Gaia at any time. There is a Sign Up button in the global navigation or click here.

If your gift time period is not over yet, you can sign up by following these two steps:
First, add a new payment method and ensure it is connected to your current gift subscription. Click here to visit the Payment Methods tab within the Billing section.

How do I change my account's email address or password?
Switched email accounts or want to change your password? Under My Account, you can find your Account Preferences. In this area you can edit or change the email address, password, player and profile photo for your account.
Why did my username change?
A limited number of My Yoga Online and Gaia members had the same usernames so some usernames had to change. Your username has changed, and you will need to use your email address to log in to the new site. If you find that your username was changed and the new name isn’t something you would like to keep, please, contact customer service and we'll be happy to update your username.
How do I change my username?
Decided that “pinkkitty346” isn’t how you want to represent yourself to the community? No problem. Usernames are tied to billing, so we will need to change that for you. Please jump on live chat, give us a call or email and we will get it fixed for you. No judgement, promise.
How do I log out of my account?
Don’t leave us for long. You can log out by clicking the cog in the top right of the site and selecting log out. Stay logged in on your personal computer to remain connected for the next time you visit. We hope to see you back soon.
I forgot my password. How do I access my account?
Has it been a little while since you logged in, or you just can’t remember that stinking password? Visit the request a new password page to be emailed a new password for future logins.
Still can’t get your password to work? No problem, contact customer service and we will sort it out for you. Thanks for hanging in there.
Can I put my account on hold?
Yes, we’d be happy to put your account on hold if you’re going out of town or traveling for an extended period of time. Please contact customer service and we will set this up for you.
Following your hold, your subscription will resume billing at the next cycle and your card will be charged.
Why is my subscription on hold?
Let’s get you back up and streaming. If you did not request a hold and your account is in a hold status, please contact customer service; we’d be happy to help.
Payment Processing Errors
Please submit a new pay method or contact customer service to retry the existing payment method. We apologize for the inconvenience.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Why, oh why, would you want to leave? Seriously, please contact customer service and let us know if you are having issues or there is some area where we are not meeting your expectations.
If you’ve decided you still want to cancel, that is fine; we are sorry we haven’t lived up our promise. You can cancel by going to your My Account section and clicking on the Cancel Subscription button in the right-hand column. Please use the survey to tell us how we can improve in the future, and thank you for being a member. We are sad to see you go.
Why haven’t I received my coupon code yet?
Signed up for an offer that involves a coupon code? Still missing that code? Don’t worry! If you signed up for an offer that involves a coupon code, it could take up to 5 business days for you to receive it in your email inbox. If you don’t get your code by the Friday following your signup date, give us a call and we will get you all sorted with one.
How do I change my monthly billing date?

How do I update or change my payment card?
Whether you need to add a new card, change your billing address or delete an old card, editing your billing information is simple and easy.
Add/Edit Payment Method
Visit the Overview tab of your My Account area to view your current payment method. From the bottom of the left-column, you can “Add a New Payment Method” or “Edit Current Payment Method.” You can also Add/Edit from the Payment Methods section of your Billing tab. After updating your information please try logging out and logging back in.
Change Payment Method
If multiple payment methods are available, you will also see a drop-down on the Overview tab of the My Account area. Select your desired payment method from the drop down and select save to change which card will be billed for your subscription.
Remove Payment Method
To remove a payment method, please visit the Payment Methods section of your Billing tab. You will see a table with your payment methods listed. The far right column will allow you to Edit or Remove a card in the list.
Payment Method Refused
Feel free to use a different card online. Or if your card was declined and you have resolved the issue with your credit card company, please contact customer service directly and we will help you resolve the issue.
Re-activating an Account
If your account is on hold due to a payment processing error, please submit a new pay method in order to regain access to your account. Or, if you prefer, contact customer service in order to resubmit the existing pay method.

Once I’ve completed my free trial, when will my monthly billing start?
We're so excited you love our community and want to become a member. At the completion of your free trial, you will become a paying member and your first monthly billing will start on the following day. That date will be become your monthly billing date for the life of your membership. To change your monthly billing date please contact customer service.
If you decide to cancel during your free trial you will not be billed upon its completion.

Why is my payment method validated prior to beginning a free trial?
When adding a new payment method, we often validate the card to confirm it is real. Don’t worry, you might see a charge, but no money will be actually be taken from your account until your monthly fee is due.
