She is a Randian Objectivist, so she will recognize the greatness of this. But as a Modern, she has supressed the sublime, and so she hasn't seen how this value can mean things beyond the expression of raw agression over nature. Mackey is leaving that door open so that the postmodern values can still get in under that frame.
