there are a few things that create vortices. i bought one to vortex my water with, but there are also instructions on how to do it yourself on youtube.

here is the device i bought in december 2005:

however, anyone who is into d-i-y  can do one that has the propeller in the bottom, it makes a much stronger vortex (my brother suggested i take the  vortex-jug and put it upside down, and the vortex that it creates is really strong and large).

the san francisco exploratorium has a really big one, and my friend Saskia took some photos of it for me, and here they are:

in texas, Dan Reese has created a water purification  de-ironizer setup  by using vortices, i dont have any english video of it, but his site is:

heres the youtube i bumped into:

err, i bumped into something else while looking for it, i cant believe that someone has made the living water vortex jug  recording as a video, thats great, i wonder if the sound is good or anything. this is what ive had since 2005.

well that seemed to mix it with other things, and never really show it with in the highest possible quality. ohwell, i do like it myself tho.
