Kundalini Yoga to Light Your Inner Fire
Kundalini Yoga and the Sleeping Serpent
Kundalini is often visualized as a coiled serpent located at the base of the spine. The goal of Kundalini Yoga is to arouse the sleeping serpent or life-force energy. This happens by stimulating the six chakras that reside along the base of the spine all the way through to the seventh chakra--or crown, which is known as the chakra of enlightenment and spiritual connection. This process opens up new realms of reality, vitality, prosperity, and creativity. Kundalini Yoga is an ideal practice in today’s fast paced world as it requires little time to practice and produces profound results.
“A well-taught Kundalini Yoga class leaves you feeling like you’ve gone to therapy, had an awesome workout in the gym, made it to your yoga mat, and enjoyed a fun singing session with friends.”

Transcendence, The Seat of the Soul
Kundalini Yoga is like being given the secret code to always winning a blue ribbon; along with a get-out-of-jail-free card; at which point you gleefully fire your Life Coach because now you know more than he does. To understand how Kundalini works you first have to understand that you have a snake in your spine (no, not literally). It’s derived from two words, kundal, the Sanskrit word meaning “circular” and “coiled snake” as well as the feminine word kundalī, which means a ring, bracelet, or coil of rope. The Yoga Upanishads adopted kundalini as a term used in Hatha yoga. The exact origin of Kundalini Yoga is unknown, but historical records, referred to as the Upanishads, sacred Vedic collection of writings, dating back to 1,000 B. C. cited the science of Kundalini energy and spiritual philosophies. We in the west basically wouldn’t have any idea or access to Kundalini Yoga if it weren’t for Yogi Bhajan...
Our culture is fixated on the physical body, in fact, getting fit is a multibillion dollar industry. But as we all know, us humans are more than just a physical body. In Kundalini yoga, human embodiment is made of 10 different layers--the flesh and bones only makes up 1/10th of one’s total being. Interestingly enough, each layer has its own metabolism (the way you process and use energy). The practice of Kundalini yoga helps one balance all of these energies. Learn more about the ten different layers and why Kundalini may be the most effective way to free one’s self from emotional, physical, and mental heaviness.
