Zaadzsters!
Exciting news. :)
We're Famous!
Yesterday was a big day in Zaadz history. Our little site was featured on national television!
Yep! Alison Stewart, of MSNBC's "The Most," featured Zaadz in her morning technology slot. She took a few minutes to chat with Brian about John Mackey's recent investment, conscious capitalism, and changing the world. You can view the clip on their site, but first, go check out Brian's blog post, "I am no longer a virgin."
(A tip: if you're ever planning to be on television you might find his play-by-play VERY valuable. And it’s pretty funny, too.)
The rest of the team was ridiculously excited about seeing our familiar little pages online and watching Brian's performance, but we found out, in trying to coordinate, that most of us (including Bri) don't own televisions. Oops. Luckily MSN was quick about getting the show online. :)
Again, you can see it here: MySpace with integrity?
What's Hot?
You are! If you watched the show, you might have noticed that one of the screens featured our new "explore what's hot" page. We just launched a page that allows you to see what blogs, discussion boards, photos, quotes, books, and bookmarks are gathering the most attention. It's a fun way to see what the community is interested in. Have a look and add to the fray. There's tons of fun stuff going on.
Conscious Capitalism Continued...
If you've been on the site since yesterday, you might have noticed a little change to the right-hand side. We've got sponsor spots! We widened the site, and swapped out the Google ads for six pretty squares that we'll be using to promote businesses that share our values. (Because seriously... isn't the world in need of more good companies? And, even more, shouldn't people be able to find out about them?)
We've created a forum for you to talk about these new members of our community, so if you'd like to weigh in on your feelings about our decision, or offer suggestions about which businesses you'd like to see featured, drop by here to share your thoughts. We'd love your input.
Zaadz Switch
Last but not least, here's another treat. Remember those Apple "Switch" ads? We've got a few of our own. Check out Obi and Steve explaining why they left MySpace for Zaadz. (A warning: these guys are pretty funny, so make sure you're not drinking anything when you watch.)
Okay. That's it from us. Have a fabulous (long!) weekend, and good luck with the egg-hunting (if you're into that sorta thing), and please let us know how we're doing. We're here for you, after all, so don't be shy about hitting 'reply.'
In love and service,
- Siona and the Zaadz Team
PS. You know how we've been sending you newsletters? Like this? And the quotes? And our Catalyzing Conscious Capitalism series? Well, pretty soon YOU'LL be able to send US (and anyone else on your list) newsletters. So expect another note from us about that soon. Because this is something we're very, very excited about. Very excited. In case you can't tell. :)
