Zaadsters!
Wow. Is it really June? I know we've been sending you all manner of enthusiastic little notes about what some other companies and organizations have been doing when it comes to changing the world through conscious business, but it's been a while since we've given you much of a community update. We're definitely due.
So here's a quick sampling.
~ On the site, we've created a new "Get Green" page (because conscious capitalism, after all, is nothing if it doesn't include environmental consciousness) and the video page, where you can find out what other Zaadzsters have been watching. (Pumpkin Hummus, anyone? Or Laughter Yoga? :)
~ And Peggy J, our wonderful community cultivator, has just launched a series of zClasses for those new to the world of Zaadz--or social networking--and who want to play more with blogs and pods and profiles. So go have a peek--and say hi to Peggy Joyce. She's one of the wise elders of Zaadz and an amazing woman in her own right. :)
~ Out in the world, Michael B. has been helping to support another Zaadz member, Clovis, in bringing a "Vision Cafe" to his home in Uganda. They've already raised nearly $14,000 in support of the project, which you can read more about at Michael's site, here (just click on the button on the home page).
~ Clovis's project was catalyzed by the work of yet another Zaadzster. I don't remember when I first 'met' Michael Skye, but I can say, wholeheartedly, that he's made a deep impression on me. (You know when you come across those human beings who are just such profoundly good people they inspire you to commit to your own self with that same sense of care? Michael is one of them. I very much mean that.) He has a series of workshops called VisionForce, and already a large number of Zaadz members have taken advantage of the scholarships he's offered to the community.
If you'd like to see a few of your fellow members sharing a bit about VisionForce, you can check out the video here. And if you're interested, you can also get the details on how to apply for one of his scholarships for world-changers. Again, I'd do it for the opportunity to meet Michael alone.
(This community blows me away. Where do you all COME from, hm?)
If you're curious about what the team's been up to, well, we've been busy polishing zPro--our suite of tools for anyone in the business of changing the world for the better.
Already a small army of you have been doing amazing things with the pre-launch version. From a few media companies (
Motto Magazine and
Alternatives Magazine) to Stu Zimmerman's
Inside Wealth show to a list of coaches (from
Robin Sharma to
Tricia Molloy) and a few fabulous eateries (
Leaf Cuisine and
Native Foods) and healers like
Scott Schwenk and
Julian Walker and Dr.
Jeremy Brooks--not to mention organizations like the
Social Venture Network--we're a little giddy about the prospect of continuing to change the world by changing the way business is done.
We'll definitely be letting you know more about these newsletter 2.0-powered micro-social-networks later on in June, but for now, a huge
thank you to all of you for recognizing the importance of this shift.
I get so inspiried by the notion of bringing community back into the marketplace, and so it's awesome--for me at least!--to be a part of such a crucial change. And it's humbling, too, because we very much need your help and support and feedback... I'm reminded, time and time again, about how important the passion and input of each of you are when it comes to, well, changing the world.
What else?
Brian's been traveling recently--to San Francisco and Austin and Boulder--meeting investors and connecting with some of the more influential worldchangers out there (and, I hear, owning them at ping-pong; our philosopher-CEO apparently has a bit of a Forrest Gump-like skill at the game). And since the last Zaadz announcement went out, our Code Poet
Josh got married, I moved to San Francisco, and we gained a new team member:
Kelly's taking care of all our finances and accounting. (Score one for conscious capitalism!)
This is getting long, hm? I know many of you likely relish a Monday distraction, but you really should get back to work. :) So 'til next time, much love...
