So. Update time. :)
First, a quick question. Who here participated in the
Global Zaangha Day this past Saturday? If you've got a story to share, drop the lovely
Jessica a note; she'd love to hear your experience! And if you missed the chance, don't fret; it's never too late to connect with other Zaadz members in your area, and you're always welcome to drop a local community member an
invitation to meet.
Next, a little news from a few of your fellow members. Dr. Kriss, a grief worker in Los Angeles, recently attended the 60th Annual DPI/NGO Conference put on by the UN in New York City. The topic was Climate Change: How it Impacts Us All, and Kriss served as a the facilitator of the “Climate Change: Ethics and Accountability” networking breakfast meetings. (If you're interested in more, you can catch some of the webcasts here.)
Then there's Desmond Green, a Jamaica-born psychologist and minister, and the founder of the Reverence for Life Foundation, an organization dedicated to the teachings of self-acceptance and deep respect for others. Desmond's background is incredible—he's worked to form musical groups within the Jamaican penal system—but his current mission is to encourage, in all of us, the practice of deep breathing. (In fact, why not take a moment—and a deep breath—right now?).
Also, a few Zaadz members have been blogging about the International Day of Peace. Maybe you'd like to learn a bit more, and join in on the meditations? I'm sure the rest of the community would love to hear your reflections.
Last but not least, we're hiring! That's right! We need a senior designer who gets what it is we're all about, and who is able to elegantly translate this into an online interface. (Maybe that person is you?) We've
posted a little note here about what we're looking for, so if you've got a background in web design and a passion for the planet and personal transformation, please drop us a note. We promise we'll be as enthusiastic about you joining us as you are about coming on board the team. :)
Big hugs, and 'til soon,
Siona PS. You've probably noticed a
few new treats on the site. We're looking forward to rolling out more over the next bit, so if you'd like to weigh in, please add your thoughts to the
ideas board so we can see what the whole community wants most. :)
