how to change the world: just watch!

You people are everywhere, you know that? :)

Dave told me, this past weekend, that he was up hiking in the mountains above Boulder and overheard two women talking about Zaadz on their way down the trail. A friend of mine just learned that both her new housemates were Zaadz members. And yesterday, when I stopped to pick up a few things for dinner at the health food store near my home, I learned the woman in line behind me was on the site.

It's funny... to me, the community feels so much the same as it did when we first launched that it's easy to forget we now number over 113,000. And I think I can speak for the whole team when I say how grateful we are for your ability to keep the place feeling so safe and sweet and welcoming and joyous, and how, instead of the energy of the site dissipating as we grow, it comes across as even more powerful and resonant. I could go on about this for pages, I'm sure, about what it means and why it's so important, but I think I'd rather just say thank you.

Thank you.

So, with an eye toward deepening that connection, and to share a bit about what all of you, and your fellow members, have been up to, I'd like to point out a few inspirational media projects that have been spotted around the site.

There's Navyo Ericsen, who is working on an incredible project. Check his page for news about Pangea Day—an event taking place on May 10th that'll use the power of film to unite the world in building a better future. We'll definitely be doing all we can on the site to help facilitate these community-building screenings this spring, but right now is an excellent opportunity (especially if you're a film maker or otherwise interested in the vision of the event!) to get involved early.

There's Tom Clifford, whose work as a documentary filmmaker is very much in alignment with the vision of conscious capitalism we're so committed to. He's an organizational storyteller, but his personal story, for me, is at least as compelling as those he's discovered in his work, and he's a great example of someone living their dream.

There's Jo Davidson, whose Zentertainment show has featured guests from Martha Beck to Carolyn Myss to John Perkins (author of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man). Her blog, too, is a wonderful read.

And there's Oren,  whose documentary, Trust 22, recently won Best Documentary at the Tenerife International Film Festival. There's a bit of a trailer on his page here, and if you visit his blog you'll find many more clips. I think one of my favorite things about Oren's work is how truly global it is; he talks to some who have had spiritual awakenings in the midst of war, to those who are working for environmental betterment in South Africa, to others who area changing lives in Bali. It's a refreshing change from those who talk about manifestation in the context of material abundance; Trust 22 talks about the not-so-secrets involved in creativity and a deeper form of fulfillment.
If you'd like to meet a few more amazing Zaadz members, and you're in the San Francisco area, we've got a little opportunity for you! Jessica's going to be representing Zaadz at the upcoming Green Festival on November 9th through 11th, and she's looking for a few others to keep her company and spread the word about our community. You'll get free tickets, a little gift bag, and, best of all, to spend time hanging out with us. (Woohoo!) Check out the post here if you're interested.

Okay. That's enough from me. If you love these updates and can't get enough, you can always check in at the team blog to see what we've been working on. :) Otherwise, 'til next time...

and the Zaadz Team

PS. We're still looking for input and thoughts and feelings about our new Gaia community project. There's a pod here, which, if you'd not visited already, we'd love for you to join. We're all a part of this vision, after all, and the more voices we have in the creation of it, the better.
