One of the things that impresses me most about this community is how it grasps the deeper truths behind the glitz of principles like "creating your own reality" and the Law of Attraction. It's not that these popularized notions are
wrong, but more that they're just a superficial glimpse of a much larger picture... and it's wonderful to be among a group of people who understands this.
And it's wonderful to see that there are others out there who realize this, too.
The Institute for Noetic Sciences (a sponsor that we've not spent nearly enough time talking about) is one organization that's doing excellent work in encouraging and spreading legitimate scientific research around the way our thoughts influence reality. They push deeper, beyond the notions of "manifestation" into psychology, consciousness studies, and those shifts in perception crucial to crafting a sustainable future.
IONS recently launched a special
Intention Campaign, comprised of a new book and a series of interviews with people like
Michael Murphy, the founder of Esalen,
Rupert Sheldrake, the preeminent researcher into morphic fields, best-selling author
Marianne Williamson, and yoga teacher
Shiva Rae. (And our very own Brian, too. But don't tell him I told you that. He's shy. ;)
The new book is called
The Intention Experiment —a work by Lynne McTaggart that brings together myriad studies on the science of intention. The book is an exploration of the current research into human thought, but more than this, it helps readers cultivate their own capacities, and invites us to participate in a global group experiment in consciousness research. (I'm looking forward to getting my copy. :)
If you'd like to be a part of this vast, interconnected project, or be involved in the research, or if you're just curious about some of the more recent findings in the studies of human intentionality, you might want to take advantage of our sponsor's latest offer: IONS is offering a
one-month trial membership to Shift In Action for just one dollar... and that one dollar gets you, in addition to the series of interviews above, a copy of
The Intention Experiment.
Yes... it's one dollar. Nope.. there's no S&H. Apparently people tend to be impressed enough with the
trial month that they stick around. You'll find out yourself what the
membership includes (think live weekly teleseminars, a quarterly magazine called
Shift, weekly media downloads, and quarterly CDs, as well as vast archive of audio content on everything from integral medicine to conscious business and spirituality and politics), but even if you don't download a single thing, you can feel good knowing your money will go toward more cutting-edge research in these fields.
So if you're curious about
IONS and the work they're doing, or interested in learning more about that connection between intention and really changing the world, or want to grab yourself a copy of McTaggart's latest book, have a
click here. One dollar. No shipping and handling. Not even Amazon will get you that. ;)
Love as always,
Siona & the
Zaadz Team PS. Can I just personally gush a bit about
IONS ? A few months ago I was fortunate enough to meet the president of the Institute, James O'Dea. He's the past director of Amnesty International, former Executive Director of the Seva Foundation (you know that non-profit that provides cataract surgery to blind people in India?), a current faculty member of the Omega Institute, and, as you might imagine, an absolutely amazing human being. Plus he's got a great sense of humor and a marvelous gift for story-telling. The
subscription to IONS is worth it just to listen to his Irish brogue.
