I love meeting people with unusual backgrounds, or corkscrew life paths. (Don't you? It gives me hope that no matter what happens, there's always the possibility for transformation.) An aunt of mine, for instance, was a Dance major in college, but eneded up an executive in a Fortune 500 company. Yesterday I met a man who quit his job as a producer at NBC to follow a calling for shamanism in the Southwest. And
our sponsor this week caps them all.
Guy Finley was the son of a late-night talk show host. He grew up among Hollywood celebrities and was signed to the Motown Record label in 1970. His songs were recorded by Diana Ross and The Jackson 5; he worked with Neil Diamond; his scores were in demand by the growing film and music industry. All his professional success, though, left him feeling empty.
So he took off to India. He visited East Asia. And he embarked on an inward journey as well. When he returned to the US, Guy began a new life as an author and teacher, weaving together Christian mysticism, Jungian psychology, and the Eastern philosophies he'd just discovered. And he started a non-profit—The Life of Learning Foundation—where he now holds inner-life classes. Quite a different life than that of a soft-rock artist.
(Again, don't you love these beacons of personal change?)
Today, Guy's new book "The Essential Laws of Fearless Living" is being released. In support of this, he's brought together
108 authors and experts to inspire and support others to follow their own hearts as well. Each of those experts has a free gift (from DVDs and workbooks to teleseminars and MP3 downloads) for anyone who
buys the book today, so if you're thinking about focusing on a change you'd like to make, now's a wonderful time to do it.
You can find out more about the book (along with the 100 additional gifts) by visiting
here. I can't help but imagine that a few of you will following Guy's lead and end up on the list I started this note with—people who've gone through some beautiful life changes in becoming who they're really meant to be.
To the crazy ones...

PS. If your story already has a bit of that transformational inspiration to it, please please please consider sharing it, either by responding to this newsletter or, even better, posting on the site. I can't tell you how important I feel it is to inspire others who might need the reminder that really, anything is possible...
