Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, to be gorgeous, talented, and fabulous. Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God within us. And as we let our light shine, we consciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
A Quote by Marianne Williamson on children, darkness, fear, glory, god, insecurity, world, and elightenment

This quote is by Marianne Williamson and is often mis-attributed to Mandela.
Can we change the attribution? Continuing to have it attributed to Nelson Mandela here perpetuates the myth that it was him.
I love this quote :)
One of the best quotes by far. Very awakening and inspiring. I love this quote.
I am using this quote for my middle school graduation.
Thanks for the correction on the source for this quote.
Here's a link for those who are interested in reading more about this incorrect reference to Nelson Mandela

yeah, I was confused about who actually had said it or written it. I put Marianne Williamson's version in my favorites now instead.
I really love this quote. It inspires me and makes me tingle with excitement at its allowing me to be more brillaint, more gorgeous, more alented and all that it talks about. I hope that it inspires others as it has inspired me.
