So what is essential then. Most American's are still moving, talking, working and associating in the same way the were before the Patriot Act. Have the American people lost 'essential liberty' or have reasonable steps been taken to ensure their safety in a changing world.
In a video I watched yesterday, apparently alot of the secret, paranoid sutff happended after the National Security legislation of 1947. This legislation created a more secret element of government. It lead to the CIA and numerous covert operations, like Cuba, early Vietnam, Iran and the Shah and was it Guaetamaelia? All really interesting stuff.
