This is what I tried to tell my friend, but had trouble explaining.
For everything you learn about someone in a relationship, you learn three about yourself.
Its about opening your heart completly, learning the secrets you hide from even yourself.  Its a gift to yourself and the others around you, pure emotion, freedom, honesty, independence, interdependence, everything all in one.
