I've asked myself this many a time!  I once read that playing with Legos is the best activity available for stimulating intelligence and creativity and that watching TV was the worst possible activity for the same.  Wondered about my kids who would always be playing with Legos while they watched TV…

The book “Sophie´s world”  is great  -  introducing the difficult thoughts of philosphers through the centuries,  in a playful and adventurous way.  A book for people of all ages.
Lego must be an ingenious toy  because it may stimulate both parts of the brain simultaneously !?  The left brain with calculations and enerneering,  and the right brain with shapes,  colours and imagination…  My thought !:)
I guess  your children got the most out of it all Ingebrita,  both with lego and television….:)

I was wondering if anyone would “get” this quote - I think it's kind of like a zen koan.  I too loved Sophie's World, though it's been several years since I reread it - may be time for another go…  Barbara, I laughed out loud at the irony in your last sentence, and Ane, I think you are SO RIGHT about the use of both sides of the brain!
