The past is always present
The past is always present
What is more Paradise than a single, clear obstacle worth overcoming?
Don't let the mistakes and disappointments of the past control and direct your future.
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."
To hell with circumstances; I create opportunities.
~ Bruce Lee ~
"If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced."
"Prepare, and be forewarned in time. If thou hast tried and failed, O dauntless fighter, yet lose not courage: fight on, and to the charge return again and yet again...
Remember, thou that fightest for man's liberation, each failure is success, and each sincere attempt wins its rewards in time."
All Gave Some
Some Gave all
Hope in the future keeps us going; determination
is slowly getting us there.
"I want to be a better person." Michelle
"Better than who?" Jesse
"Better than the person I am today." Michelle
"Then you are alreday a better person." Jesse
Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.
Yes, I can!
I certainly can!
I can have
A gratitude-flower-heart
That shall remain open
At all hours.
Enthusiasm
Rules his inner world.
Determination
Rules his outer world.
Therefore
Happiness has become
His real name.
"To say you are finished is to declare your own limits...
Ability lies in your devotion to challenge it." -Everlutionary
The difficulties and struggles of today are but the price we must pay for the accomplishments and victories of tomorrow
Our goal is not to have
A problem-free life.
But to conquer all the problems
As they appear
Along our life-road.
I'm sad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.
Failure
Is not falling down.
Failure
Is desiring to live
Where I have fallen.
With the determination to accomplish the highest welfare of all sentient beings, who surpass even a wish-granting jewel, I will learn to hold them supremely dear. Whenever I associate with others, I will learn to think of myself as the lowest amongst all and respectfully hold others to be supreme from the very depths of my heart. In all actions I will learn to search into my mind and as soon as a disturbing emotion arises endangering myself and others I will firmly face and avert it. I will learn to cherish ill-natured beings and those oppressed by strong misdeeds and sufferings as if I had found a precious treasure difficult to find. When others out of envy treat me badly with abuse, slander, and the like I will learn to take all loss and offer the victory to them. When the one who I have benefited with great hope hurts me very badly for no reason, I will learn to view that person as an excellent spiritual guide. In short I will learn to offer everyone without exception all help and happiness directly and indirectly and respectfully take upon myself all harm and suffering of my mothers. I will learn to keep all these practices undefiled by the stains of the eight worldly concerns and by understanding all phenomena as like illusions, be released from the bondage of attachment.
"Always give 'em the old fire, even when you feel like a squashed cake of ice"
All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you're not good enough or strong enough or talented enough; they will say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. They will tell you no, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly. And you will tell them yes.
Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.
“I have one life and one chance to make it count for something . . . I'm free to choose what that something is, and the something I've chosen is my faith. Now, my faith goes beyond theology and religion and requires considerable work and effort. My faith demands -- this is not optional -- my faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference.”
“If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress.”
