Weird, strange, different and unique are all different shades of the same word. How you perceive an experience or individual will determine which shade of this word you use. Another's perception may be entirely different.
A man sees things from a different light and has to fight for what he believes in. Is he wrong for not wanting to belong or is the real wrong the way that others treat him? Is the man weird, strange, different or is he unique?
People with different personalities, different approaches, different values succeed not because one set of values or priorities is superior but because their values and practices are genuine.
If there's a message to pass to people, I'd say that it's normal to be different from others, it's good to differ from one another, and we'd better look at ourselves first before we start criticising someone who looks, acts, speaks different or has a different skin colour. I'd like to continue, even at a minimal level, what John Lennon had started. If I could do as much as a bit of what he did, if I could contribute to the elimination of hatred among us, that would be a great deal.
Stop the mindless wishing that things would be different. Rather than wasting time and emotional and spiritual energy in explaining why we don't have what we want, we can start to pursue other ways to get it.
We all have different gifts and different ways of saying to the world who we are. The world needs a sense of worth, and it will achieve it only by its people feeling they are worthwhile.
I think if I found Jesus, [and] I didn't know he was lost in the first place, I don't think he would be all that different from me.
