There are three book titles you will never see: "Finding Happiness by Sitting on Your Couch Waiting for It", "Finding Happiness by Pleasing Everyone", and "Finding Happiness by Pretending To Be Someone You Are Not"!

Everything you do is right, nothing you do is wrong, yet you must still make ceaseless effort.
The past is always present
Our present is being defined by every action that we do.
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
- Anatole France
Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory.
Live where your Passion finds a purpose, effort is just another word for Joy, and rest is the only distraction you allow .
A great and beautiful moment is rarely a distraction from your major purpose in Life -- stop and see it, feel it deeply, purely and completely.
Yet, then move on. Effort to repeat a specific great and beautiful moment is almost always a distraction.
In the end, all we have is the effort we've made to be the best we can be, in mind, body and in spiritual practices. I encourage you to make that longer trip.

Know that you have a center.
Know that you belong there.
Know that the path to the center takes no effort.
Men will lie on their backs, talking about the fall of man, and never make an effort to get up.
Unless you make tremendous efforts, you will not be convinced that effort will take you nowhere. The self is so self-confident that unless it is totally discouraged it will not give up. Mere verbal conviction is not enough. Hard facts alone can show the absolute nothingness of the self-image.
You are never given a wish without being given the power to make it true.
You may have to work for it, however.
Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.
It is the truth that frees, not your effort to be free.
At the utmost, the active-minded young man should ask of his teacher only mastery of his tools. The young man himself, the subject of education, is a certain form of energy; the object to be gained is economy of his force; the training is partly the clearing away of obstacles, partly the direct application of effort. Once acquired, the tools and models may be thrown away.
With hope it is, hope that can never die,
Effort, and expectation, and desire,
And something evermore about to be.
Tolerance is the positive and cordial effort to understand another's beliefs, practices and habits without necessarily sharing or accepting them.
There is no investment you can make which will pay you so well as the effort to scatter sunshine and good cheer through your establishment.

All things are possible until they are proved impossible - and even the impossible may only be so, as of now.
You didn't come into this life just to sit around on a dugout bench, did ya? Now get your ass out there and do the best you can!
“I think we can do better. That is what Robert Kennedy always said. I think we can do better too. Won't you join me in the effort?”
“I have one life and one chance to make it count for something . . . I'm free to choose what that something is, and the something I've chosen is my faith. Now, my faith goes beyond theology and religion and requires considerable work and effort. My faith demands -- this is not optional -- my faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference.”

The right shot, at the right moment, does not come because you do not let go of yourself. You are not waiting for fulfillment, but bracing yourself for failure. So long as this is so, you have no choice but to call forth something from yourself that ought to happen independently of you.
Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.
