Healing requires far more of us than just the participation of our intellectual and even our emotional resources. And it certainly demands that we do more than look backwards at the dead-end archives of our past. Healing is, by definition, taking a process of disintegration of life and transforming into a process of return to life.

Remember and have no doubt!  The God who can punish us for our sins is also capable in His limitless mercy of absolving us from our sins.  There is no heavy sin or curse that cannot be redeemed by deeds and prayer.

Healing from our past is an essential aspect of expanding our sense of self and awakening our capacity to love. This shift often manifests as a change in the questions we've been asking ourselves. Instead of What do I need? we ask, How can I serve? Instead of What am I getting out of this? we start to ask, What can I bring to this situation to promote the highest possible outcome for everyone involved?

While holding positive thoughts and emotions is advantageous, positive thinking itself is not "Hallmark Card thinking."  It's really an ongoing awareness that all truly is well with the world, with life, and with oneself. It's also a commitment not to mindlessly pass on fears but to bring positive energy, images, ideas, and feelings into the lives of others, to help them attune to the wellness at the heart of the world.

It can be humbling to realize how much we have in common with those we attempt to help.

Awe is the salve that will heal our eyes.

The healing of our present woundedness may lie in recognizing and reclaiming the capacity we have to heal each other, the enormous power in the simplest of human relationships: the strength of a touch, the blessing of forgiveness, the grace of someone else taking you just as you are and finding in you an unsuspected goodness. Everyone alive has suffered. It is the wisdom gained from our wounds and from our own experiences of suffering that makes us able to heal. Becoming expert has turned out to be less important than remembering and trusting the wholeness in myself and everyone else. Expertise cures, but wounded people can best be healed by other wounded people. Only other wounded people can understand what is needed, for the healing of suffering is compassion, not expertise.

I vow to interpret every experience as a direct healing of the Goddess with my soul.

Loving ourselves is the miracle cure we are all looking for.

Think about the difference between thankfulness and praise.  Thankfulness if us-centered; when things work out the way we want, we're thankful.  Praise is God-centered; praise means becoming aware of God in your life right now... praise is the beginning of healing.

A lot of people say they want to get out of pain, and I'm sure that's true, but they aren't willing to make healing a high priority. They aren't willing to look inside to see the source of their pain in order to deal with it.
