Think for yourself.  Unplug yourself from follow-the-follower groupthink, and virtually ignore what everyone else in your industry is saying (except the ones everyone agrees is crazy).  Do your own research, draw your own conclusions, set your own course, and stick to your guns.  When you’re just starting out, people will tell you you’re wrong.  After you’ve blown past them, they’ll tell you you’re crazy.  A few years after that, they’ll (privately) ask you to mentor them.

When it becomes a part of every man's thinking that a single thought can change the polarity of our entire body toward either life or death - and can likewise change its entire chemistry toward increasing alkalinity or acidity to strengthen it or weaken it - or can change the shape of every corpuscle of matter in the entire body in the direction of either growth or decay - then the medical profession will radically change both its principles and its practices with the ailment of bodies.

The most critical case in a corporation, especially a big one, is when everything goes well, when you have accomplished your objectives. When the temptation is to work twice as hard instead of saying, "We have accomplished our objectives, we have to think again."

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Because I had two influential fathers, I learned from both of them. I had to think about each dad's advice, and in doing so, I gained valuable insight into the power and effect of one's thoughts on one's life. For example, one dad had a habit of saying, "I can't afford it." The other dad forbade those words to be used. He insisted I say, "How can I afford it?" One is a statement, and the other is a question. One lets you off the hook, and the other forces you to think. My soon-to-be-rich dad would explain that by automatically saying the words "I can't afford it," your brain stops working. By asking the question "How can I afford it?" your brain is put to work. He did not mean buy everything you wanted. He was fanatical about exercising your mind, the most powerful computer in the world. "My brain gets stronger every day because I exercise it. The stronger it gets, the more money I can make." He believed that automatically saying "I can't afford it" was a sign of mental laziness.

Although both dads worked hard, I noticed that one dad had a habit of putting his brain to sleep when it came to money matters, and the other had a habit of exercising his brain. The long-term result was that one dad grew stronger financially and the other grew weaker. It is not much different from a person who goes to the gym to exercise on a regular basis versus someone who sits on the couch watching television. Proper physical exercise increases your chances for health, and proper mental exercise increases your chances for wealth. Laziness decreases both health and wealth.

Electricity is the strain or tension set up by the two opposing desires
of universal Mind thinking: the desire for balanced action and the
desire for rest.

This electric universe is a complexity of strains caused by the
interaction of these two opposing, interchanging electric desires.

All matter is electric. All matter is conditioned into greater or
lesser strains according to the intensity of desire which is the cause
of all electric strain to which it is subjected.

The farther removed from rest, the greater the strain or tension. That
which we call high electric potential is merely great strain to
maintain a condition which is far from the condition of rest.

The familiar return ball with which a child plays is a good example of
electric strain. When the ball is thrown from the hand, the elastic
gradually tightens to increase the tension of resistance to strain
generated in the elastic. The strain continues to intensify until the
ball comes to rest. When the ball returns, the strain gradually lessens
until the ball again comes to rest in the child’s hand. When that
happens, the strain and tension have been voided. Tension has not
BECOME rest; it has ceased to be.

This whole electric universe is a complex maze of similar tensions.
Every particle of matter in the universe is separated from its
condition of oneness, just as the return ball is separated from the
hand, and each is connected with the other one by an electric thread of
light which measures the tension of that separateness.

Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to be always part of unanimity.

I always looked for the CAUSE behind things and didn't fritter away my time analyzing EFFECTS. ALL KNOWLEDGE EXISTS as CAUSE. And it is simple. It is limited to LIGHT of MIND and the electric wave of motion which records God's thinking in matter. EFFECT is complex-infinitely complex - but one can have no KNOWLEDGE of effect. One can but be INFORMED of effect. Information is not knowledge. Our educational processes INFORM us but until we have recognized the eternal truth which underlies that information we have no knowledge of it. Like food in the grocery store, it is not nourishment until it is converted to the blood stream. ALL-KNOWLEDGE is possible for anyone - and the Cosmos gives it to him who asks but all information is impossible.

What does it mean to be an original thinker? What is original thinking? What is originality? What is thinking?

Thinking for most people is information-shuffling. When they say they are thinking they are in fact shuffling information. Thinking is not shuffling information. The Japanese word for "to think" is "kamgaeru," which etymologically means "to return to the realm of God." The English word "to think" etymologically means "to make something appear" or "to create." To think thus etymologically means "to create by returning to the realm of God." Therefore, to think means to create in accord with the kosmic. To create in accord with the kosmic means to bring forth new identities (concept and ideas) by discovering new causative patterns through the unfolding of the knowledge of kosmic law or pattern integrity.

Thinking is therefore kosmic thinking. Thinking is also original thinking, for to think kosmically means to be at the origin of creation. Thinking is thus kosmic and original. No thinking short of being kosmic or original is authentic thinking, but only information shuffling. Hence, to be an original thinker means to be at the origin of creation or to be a co-creator with God by returning to the realm of God. How to become an original thinker? You can become an original thinker only by assuming the responsibility of thinking, and by having a commitment to truth.

To assume the responsibility of thinking means never to presume that somebody somewhere has an answer. You may consider the Christ, the Buddha, Walter Russell, or other illumined souls and geniuses your teachers, but you should never presume that they had the final answer. They may, but it is you, and you alone, who can authentically find the answer for yourself. You must return to the source of your being--the inner realm of God and of kosmic law. Only then, can you think kosmically, for then it is God, the Intelligence of Being, that thinks through and as you. Thinking is original thinking. Original thinking is kosmic thinking. There is no other kind of thinking.

We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with an impure mind
And trouble will forllow you
As the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart.

We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with a pure mind
And happiness will follow you
As your shadow, unbreakable.

How can a troubled mind
Understand the way?

Your worst enemy cannot harm you
As much as your own thoughts, unguarded.

But once mastered,
No one can help you as much,
Not even your father or your mother.

When it's new and important, you have to rest in between times.  And anyway, even when I like a person there is a weariness that comes.  I can be with someone and everything is fine and then all of a sudden it can wash over me like a sickness, that I need the quiet of my own self.  I need to unload my head and look at what I've got in there so far.  See it.  Think what it means.  I always need to come back to being alone for awhile.  I guess I sort of got used to it when I was younger and now it's mixed in my character like eggs in a cake.  Sometimes I wonder, does this mean I'll have to be a nun or something?
