Go the Easy Way!
Getting from a dream to a vision requires a plan. There are several methods that can help us to do this, such as guided imagery or a swot (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis.
Often, guided imagery alone does not have the measurable actions that we need to sustain our momentum. We have clarity about our dream but lack the specifics around what to do next.
On the other hand, going through a linear process of listing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats can result in specific actions but we often lose sight of the intent behind what it was we wanted to accomplish. We tend to lose the fire in our belly and get weighed down under the logistics of implementation.
Developing our vision requires that we revisit our dream and action plans often. Though the frequency of our review may vary, it is important to develop a repeatable process that works for our specific situation.
One repeatable process that I have developed and clients find works extremely well is called Recipe Rigor – Go the easy way from dream to vision (click on the hyperlink or go to http://terrill.gaia.com/blog/2008/6/recipe_rigor_go_the_easy_way_from_dream_to_vision ).
