I had been working on my hops for awhile now - I loved how you put it all together for me to actually get it - mission accomplished!! Thank you
I wanted to investigate your teaching style after listening the PODCAST you were on with Yogaland - love Andrea!!! You are so real and I love it - I love authentic people - but really who doesn't?
I am a yoga teacher and I find it overwhelming sometimes - but after I chant a few times - yup chant! "I am enough" (yes it is my mantra) then everything falls into place.
Thank you again for a wonderful class - I am grateful I was able to attend

Love this class, its different in a good way.
Definitely intermediate practice as stated.
thank you :-)

Love this class. Super fun to do some of the more challenging poses at home. Just listened to your podcast on the School of Greatness too! Lovely to learn you too are a Kansas girl. :) All love, Jules

this is not a beginner's practice. i am a yoga instructor and would never do this practice for a beginner's class. It is much too fast paced. I even had a hard time keeping up at some points because she was talking way to quickly and I am an experienced student who practices and teaches strong vinyasa flow classes.

Great Job!

strauss5marija, posted on November 8, 2015

If this is more slow flow practise with enought time to feel and breath in each asana, I would do it again. Too much fast, music. speaking, is very disturbing, not at all yoga to feel relaxed after working, even more hard but with peace in mind and body... and I am not talking about yin approach, just real yoga practise, other wise this aerobic flow will make you feel stressed after doing it. I can see that teacher is very good, but is there some yoga awareness for people who love doing yoga? About possibility to be hurt I dont even want to write nothing , if you dont prepare and warm yoru self, and if you dont know something more about yoga this will put you in danger to hurt yourself, I had to do modifications , and to approach with my yoga experience , I will try to see and find some practise with Kathryn that suites me, if not, sorry, really. What a shame, doing this vinyiasa in such fast histeric flow! I miss this wonderful flow, in slow enought time to breath and really LOVE to be in asana that you feel comfortable and perfect in it .

Thank you Kathryn that practice was so inspiring and beautiful!
Please upload more intermediate level classes! I want to practice with you everyday!

This Goddess is all-powerful! Nice job Kathryn. You look really pretty when you do yoga (go, girl!), but the proof is in your practice that you work hard at it. Hope you get lots of rest in between your practices. Blessings for the inspiration!

The Beginner's practice is just what I needed. BUT I can't get it to download. So many of them I can't d/l into the Purple Player.

I really liked this practice. I liked that there were some poses I either hadn't done or don't do very often. I liked the fire it created, it's a really great different flow. But it moves a bit too fast. There is nothing worse then trying to keep up, trying to see your computer screen, or trying to push yourself into poses you are not familiar with. That just messes up the whole flow experience. It is unfortunate that the producers didn't slow it down a touch. I guess if I do it often, I would become familiar and be able to move freely. However, there are so many videos here I don't see that happening. I like variety. I also did not like that there are no alternatives offered for the many jumping poses. I consider myself intermediate, and am not comfortable with all that jumping. A little, great, but I found myself deviating from the video because there were no offered poses if you didn't want to do all the jumping poses. I really like a lot of the different poses offered. Thank you for your loving offering.

The Beginners practice is a nice, energizing and balanced flow....great way to ease back into your practice. Katheryn's voice and cues are just right. Love her! The intermediate practice is more than a step up so be prepared to be uncomfortable while your strength builds. It's also a wonderful flow but I wish there were another step between the beginner and intermediate.

Loved the archer sequence, metaphorically and physically! Great practice, just what I needed after a week of no yoga. Thanks!

Tagfrank, posted on September 7, 2014

Archer. Pretty COOL. Rain. I aim for rain. Like...dancing in the rain. Romance. :O Medicine wheels are cool, huh? Ebb and flow...I found a Chinese acupuncture chart...it's a medicine wheel. It tells me the daily ebb and flow of my hormones. Hormones are pretty simple. Yin and yang. Less stress.

liz9162, posted on September 4, 2014

I loved every single minute of this flow. I'm a beginner and the vinyasa was challenging and fun. I couldn't get into the handstand and just when I was starting to get frustrated she said "try to smile" and I remembered what the practice is really about.. :)

nathalie@sesame-yoga.fr, posted on September 2, 2014

thanks katrin, you're a really inspiring teacher !
the class was tough for me but I could more or less complete it, wooo
I have to say the music is disturbing. Yoga practice is so good in Silence...

Kathryn teaches a intermediate to advanced power flow yoga class in this practice. She is very encouraging but this is an energy lifting practice not a relaxing practice. It is athletic, but her words are very yoga like. As a 200 ryt, I found the class very challenging and inspiring but better suited for a more experienced student. It is a fast pace and definitely fits in the category of vinyasa fast flow. vs. a slow flow. I did enjoy her and the practice very much. Her imagery is excellent and she teaches with several options. GREAT class! Her imagination is remarkable and I look forward to more practices with her!

Excellent instruction and nice flow.

I am fairly new to yoga practice and the flow or quicker movement keeps me focused on the practice. She has a nice gentle voice that is easy to follow. Very nice video when you can't get to the studio.

JyotiB, posted on June 5, 2014

Too fast paced for a beginner and a strong routine,,,,,espescially with the jumping,,,,,,,this would be more intermediate than beginners. Overall, a nice smooth flow and covers a good range of poses.

chandy92, posted on March 31, 2014

I have done several of the beginner videos, and this one brings some new poses to the table...which I love! The instructor had a very motivating energy and soothing voice that really made you want to push through with a smile. It was easily the most difficult video I have done, as I am new to Yoga, but the challenging was welcomed.

mariangain, posted on March 30, 2014

Tried this with hubby to introduce him to yoga. Too fast, and some strength poses were too much for him. Otherwise could be a good warm-up for someone more familiar with yoga, and more fit. I would rate it Intermediate even though it's short

elikqitie, posted on February 15, 2014

There are many parts of this video that I like - the background, Kathryn's voice, and the intention is great. I also like the different poses that I haven't done before. I have been practicing yoga for several years. She had poses that I haven't done before. I am planning on continuing to use this video in my daily practice. This is a great intermediate video.

janiswiggy, posted on January 30, 2014

I have been practicing yoga for several years and I love how this video challenges me. Kathryn teaches the smal steps which if you practice them will get you floating from down dog to a forward bend. Also great practice to learn dolphin which again if you practice will get you eventually to lift both legs up in the pose. This is an advanced practice for me which is exactly what I'm looking for. Quick pace and challenging poses--I hope you add more videos like this.

tanderson98, posted on January 28, 2014

How frustrating! I don't have unlimited time for my practice. By the time I realized that I was expected to jump up into the air from downward facing dog, it was too late to do another video. Please put this in another category.

gildafathi, posted on June 7, 2014

I am an intermediate... after doing this clip, I felt anything but open and peaceful. As a matter, I stopped half way because I felt so rushed...Whats the instructors hurry? this is yoga not a sprint! Not for me.

carlymorse, posted on January 2, 2014

being new to yoga I am not at all used to these poses. I can't do downward down with out having to bend my knees. I am not flexible enough for this video, it is definitely not for beginners. video is extremely faced paced and hard to follow along to.
but I could really feel myself getting a work out and flexing as much as I could.

brandi.l.eckert, posted on November 9, 2013

GREAT instruction - I agree with one of the other comments - a little fast moving for beginner, but this instructor is great and I love her style.

sdjdr5, posted on November 4, 2013

This is a great practice, really gets your heart pumping, interesting poses. BUT, definitely not beginner!

applesaucamous, posted on August 31, 2013

This is a good video but being brand new to yoga, I was looking for something more instructional. It was impossible to follow along with the moves while trying to get into position and making sure I had the correct form; the video just moves too fast. Great if you're beginning but already have a thorough knowledge of yoga terminology.

sdjdr5, posted on August 30, 2013

This really takes you to the next level for intermediate. I may not have been able to do all the flying, but I got a great workout and feel awesome!

micasart, posted on August 22, 2013

Wow. Kathryn is amazing. I have been practicing Yoga for about a year now and have fallen in love with all that it has brought to me. It has changed me from the inside out and Kathryn Budig is my next step and I couldn't be more excited about discovering her. Thanks!

KatieW23, posted on June 15, 2013

I love this sequence and Kathryn so much. This is definitely a more advanced practice... but it's just what I need right now as I am playing with handstand and arm balances. A challenging yet gentle work out. I'm in love. Nothing on this site has compared so far.

B-health, posted on June 5, 2013

Loved this. Great energizer for morning. Challenging for a beginner in the morning and just right.

jessharrison701, posted on April 25, 2013

I'm not really new to yoga, but I've never used any sort of video to follow along with (usually use magazine articles and go at a slow pace). I bought one of Kathryn Budig's books and decided to try out a video. The "beginner practice" is face paced compared to other yoga. A lot of time is spent in downward dog which is a good workout for the arms. I could keep up with her but by the end I was sweaty. It's also a short flow which makes it easy for everyday use. I can't wait to advance to the other videos!

Roadbike58, posted on March 30, 2013

Great video for the experienced and hyperactive fitness guru. This is not real spiritual yoga, it is focused only on the fitness aspect of yoga, competitive and ambitious. I was expecting more calm mind body spirit yoga. Good for cardio, but your mind is too busy following the commands from Sargent Kathryn. She needs to soften up a little bit.

erikkai, posted on March 23, 2013

This is borderline advanced because you better be flexible and know your stuff before attempting the Vinyasa flow. Not only does the instructor not pause and take breath but she literally races through the poses. If you are new to Yoga, do not attempt. You will get disheartened. If you are intermediate, then prepare for the challenge. It is rewarding, but expect to not be able to keep up. It is okay....that's what practice is about.

deeray82, posted on March 18, 2013

To reiterate what others have said, the beginner's practice is not for beginners. I've been doing yoga for 7 years now and sometimes it was a little fast for even me to keep up (this was mostly because I was in downward dog and couldn't see the screen!). But, it was a GREAT practice for a Monday morning after a month-long absence from doing yoga. Broke a sweat, and though I didn't burn as many calories as I'd have liked, I still think it was worth it.

...but SOOOO not. for beginners

Avinja, posted on February 20, 2013

The beginners practise isn`t definitly not for beginners. It`s too fast and too difficult. For me it`s a beginner`s practise for advanced yogis ...

sarahtietsort, posted on February 13, 2013

I've really enjoyed doing this program. I've done it three times so far and really like it. I'm waiting to build up to the "Authentic Flow" which is much more demanding. "Beginner's Practice" is challenging yet calming and I love how Kathryn reminds us to not take ourselves too seriously. A gentle and much needed reminder.

Tagfrank, posted on February 10, 2013

LOVE this workout! Don't be afraid to step up your game!!! It'll be worth it.

Eksie, posted on January 18, 2013

mcdillma, posted on December 29, 2012

A yoga instructor who smiles and shines with happiness is enlightening. Doesnt yoga mean "to lighten up?" I love her positive energy. Thank you for aiming true with the intrinsic philosophy of joy, accepting the present circumstances as they appear but most importantly moving forward without fear.
5 star rating.
