I just subscribed to Gaiam because I wanted access to your videos. I fell in love with your style of teaching at the Portland Yoga Festival. I just did your Advanced Backbends: King Pigeon Series. WOW, incredible. You have such a gift at explaining poses so my body goes to it's fullest potential. I'm so lucky to have found your class. Thank you for all that you do. You have inspired my desire for using richer words during my classes. Sending love.....

Hello! Thanks so much for tracking me down on here. It's always great to connect with a fellow New Englander, even if only digitally. :-) I'm so glad that you had fun at the conference, and that you connected to some of what we covered!

I'll look forward to the next time our paths cross. :-)

I love this video and will definitely be returning to it :) I really enjoyed getting into some crazy poses (not side crow yet - more time for that one!!), and particularly liked the opening and closing mudra and mini meta meditation. It's amazing what can come up when you take some time to be still, stretch, and be kind to yourself. Diolch! (Thank you in Welsh :) )

pranavayu, posted on July 25, 2016

Well thank you Rosemary! That's officially the first Welsh thank you that I've ever received. :-)

I'm so glad that you had fun with the video!

I felt so good yesterday after doing this class, so today I decided to have the same class again... maybe for the same great benefits. all that stretching and back-bends was wonderful and left me with a "feeling great" mood. thank you for this wonderful class!

Thank you David - this was exactly what I needed after a long day at work.
My body was so resistant and I was so humbled by this practice.
The slow instructions were so spot on - I didn't have to look at the screen
and now I know where my resistance lies and the work begins

pranavayu, posted on March 7, 2016

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that you found some things that you'd like to continue to work on in this practice. I love how you're willing to bump up against the points that resist!

Thank you!

Good one! I came into it stiff and unweildy, and throughout got bowed and folded and lifted and elongated and all wrung out. My back muscles are happied up, and way more bendy then they were, even if I am a loooong way off from King Pigeon!

pranavayu, posted on December 7, 2015

Ha ha! Stiff and unwieldy to bowed and folded. I love that description! I'm so glad that this practice helped.

Perfect sequence in which I can still grow. Shanti.

Om Shanti to you as well!

Thank you for your beautiful video- my comments are much the same as those below. Very very good sequencing. Amazing Shoulder Stretches. May I ask who is the band playing as your back ground music?

Clamzee, posted on April 3, 2014

Another great practice David! I noticed a great progress in my asanas over the last couple of months doing mostly your practices daily!

hecates7, posted on October 1, 2013

That was very good. Incredibly skilful and so well done. A lovely soothing voice as well

pranavayu, posted on June 24, 2013

All right Sarah-John! It sounds like you learned something new about yourself. :-) Feels great doesn't it?

Yes, in the final position, you want to square your hips as much as possible with the front of your mat. Don't force things though, simply work toward it over time.

Have fun!

sarah-john, posted on June 24, 2013

I can't believe it! I had no idea king pigeon was almost accessible to me. Do the hips need to be completely squared in the final pose?

Nice class. I was expecting a lot more backbends (based on the title) but I enjoyed all the intense shoulder stretching. Interesting variations!

Deepali, posted on November 25, 2012

Hi David, This was an excellent practice. I had so much tension in my neck and back, I had not practiced yoga for more than six months at all. I some how started this thinking I have to do one your videos and get back into yoga when I woke up with so much pain and stress this morning, and so glad I did! Really enjoyed it. Your sequence is amazing, as I could do all the poses other than the twisty one where you lift your legs off the ground! Really enjoyed thank you. Need the discipline to do a class each day!! Thanks for such a great class.

enanita, posted on November 3, 2012

Amazing, nicely paced, sequenced so thoughtfully. Guess that's why that was the first time I was able to do king pigeon:)Thank you, David.

davidmagone, posted on October 25, 2012

Hey thanks Shawna! Glad to hear that you're making some progress on that pigeon. Have you tried making it into a strapasana? Sometimes if you're getting close, it helps to have something to hold on to.

ShawnaTurner, posted on October 24, 2012

Amazing! David, I love your classes! Always creative, unique sequencing....and this class leading up to king pigeon...still not quite there, but closer than ever. Woop!!! Thanks!

davidmagone, posted on September 25, 2012

Thanks for practicing Kate. I love that your willingness to jump in there and practice from where you are!

KateTT, posted on September 22, 2012

While some of the poses were somewhat beyond me, I went as far as I could comfortably and man, do my back, hips and legs feel great. And I swear I'm breathing deeper now too. Another wonderful practice. Thank you David.
