I didn't do the balances all the way because I'm worried about possibly injuring myself. I did however stretch with the best of them, do the muscle activations, and hug the midline. I think it will all add up to muscle memory and strength and I will take the full asana eventually.

"Make sure your legs give power to your ribcage and that they don't just stop at the groins. The power goes out through your solar plexus and then goes back out through your limbs. It just helps you go farther"

This quote. Themed, repeated, and interwoven throughout the class.

This. What my classical pilates teacher tells me in class, but in different words--and there they talk about "center" and not midline (in physical terms).

This was a great class. I lost my balance and fell down for the first time since I started doing yoga! It was great because it was challenging without being too advanced and Desiree has some really helpful techniques. :)

This class is amazing!! In the past I had always felt a little rushed with getting into arm balances, but I eventually learned to master them, or so I had thought. This class was a bit of an ego check in the brightest manner, and it definitely articulated every step that was necessary to properly execute each pose. Thank you so much for this!!!

As much as I thoroughly enjoyed this fun inspired class I am so tired of people putting down Pilates! This is not ok! Joseph Pilates was a genius who took many principals from yoga and other modalities of movement! I am a Pilates master teacher and we DO NOT do crunches! We apply the SAME principals as yoga! Obviously you haven't done Pilates or you have had a teacher that did not understand this vital principle! Please know what you speak of before you say something false! Thank you!
