Impact: Barefoot College (2010)
An extremely unconventional college is located in the heart of rural India in Tilonia. Here, none of the students know how to read and write, they all make less than $1 a day, and come from poor and marginalized families.
But within 6 months, students leave the Barefoot College as solar engineers, doctors and architects, armed with the knowledge of technology utilization, and ready to transform their communities.
The founder, Bunker Roy, has been listed as among the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine, and in this episode, we look at how the revolutionary approach of Barefoot College is changing paradigms on education and development.
