Landscape as Muse: The Buffalo with Adrian Stimson (2007)
We join Adrian Stimson as he heads out to scout for bison. We are at a semi-wilderness area of Shell River that has a sustainable housing development called Sweet Earth. As we view some of his works, he explains the importance of working with the bison. His works range from performance art to painting with tar.
After exploring the frozen landscapes, he returns to his studio. We observe him working as he puts the pieces together on a new work. As he works, he explains his philosophy on portraying the bison and trying to capture the energy of when there were thousands roaming the lands.
