Unusual Cultures: Crete & Lamalera (2012)
The peaks of Crete’s mountains proudly climb to the sky. The culture of people living in Crete, a splendid and legendary Greek island, dates back 4,000 years. From the depth of this culture, people have emerged who are renowned for their pride, hospitality, and steadfastness.
The tiny Indonesian village of Lamalera creates myths and fulfills the desires of all travelers. The center of the village is formed by a large bay, which serves as the only access to the sea in the far surroundings, and ramshackle shelters are built all over the perimeter of the bay for the boats that the local people use to survive.
