Thank you for bringing Joan Grant's work back to light. I've now read several of her books and am astonished at the sheer directness of wisdom and insight she achieves in her Egyptian and American Indian stories. One especially important feature of her ability to convey this is the very particular 'voice' she uses. So imagine my astonishment when I came across a similar 'voice' in the feted translation of Awakening Osiris, the Egyptian Book of the Dead by Normandi Ellis, a translation highly valued by Graham Hancock. Along with Nicki Scully, she also wrote the very recently published The Union of Isis and Thoth, recommended by several people you're already well acquainted with, like Bruce Lipton and Barbara Hand Clow.

I would really love to see you interview Normandi Ellis....or Nicki Scully.

Thank you again,
Cherie Cullen

ahhh what an amazing possibility to remember our past lives as Joan Grant did..... I understand why we don't but to think IF WE COULD... ahhh the healing that could occur through recognizing right away....yet we can still do with intentional effort of exploring the in's and out's like with past life regression, it's just a very fascinating avenue to dive into and explore some more....

I am fascinating with topics like this.... definitely one that catches my attention every time! thank you!

Just watched this video.. Great interview and looking for the 2nd 1/2.. Since this is like a video (book) club.. we will probably have to wait a month for them to get it out of the can.... But the good news is I went online and found a 1st. edition of the Winged Pharaoh in great condition and bought it... It will be traveling around to all my interested friends...

In this video there was a comment about this being "the first hour" of the segment. Led me to believe that there would be a second hour... Or more. I would love to see more video if you have it. Fascinating subject matter.

I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. I've read all of Joan Grant's books and have greatly enjoyed each one. Joan brought through a common thread in each of her books which was regardless of her position in each life, she held to her own highest truth and personal integrity . . . something greatly missing in most of us today - even in her life as Carola, where she was tortured by the nuns in the convent for being a witch because she was psychic and knew that the Abbess had no true understanding of the God they proclaimed to worship, Carola held firmly to her own truth. I will aspire to live up to Joan's example of holding to your own truth and radiating the light within, and doing it fearlessly. What a wonderful human being she was. Again Regina, great interview!

That book was very confirming for me... An amazing and thought provoking read. I paraphrased it in an article I wrote about nonlinear time and dreaming:

I had had a dream about this so the book and how it came into my life was very validating.

"On Earth I see Time as a straight line. Upon it, the present is a point from which, in opposite directions, stretch the past and the future, marked into divisions of the years like thumb-joints on the taunt string of the drawing-scribe. On earth I see the horizon also as a straight line. when I am free of my medicine wheelbody, I can see Earth as a sphere and Time as a circle. Upon this circle are the years marked, and if one travels along it, then is the distance between any two points greater or lesser according to the distance that one travels, just as it is on Earth. But I can reach a place where it is as though the circle of time were the rim of a wheel, and I upon the hub of it. From me radiate the spokes, which are of equal length, whether they go to a point in time of what I have been, what I am, or what I shall become. While I am here, that moment I was first born as man–though it was before this little Earth–and that moment when I left the body that I dwell in now, and that future time when I shall be reborn, are at the same distance from me; for where I am is within and beyond Time, for it is the center of a circle where past, present, and future join and are eternal. ”

I loved this interview with Jane Lahr. Thank you Regina. You are always so poised in your interviews. I had never heard of Joan Grant and am looking forward to reading Winged Pharaoh. Blessings to you! Namaste~

Regina is a pro and was wonderful. The book I started with was Winged Pharaoh - and I think you will get what you are looking for there. I also recommend Joan Grant Speaking from the Heart. Both books are published by Overlook Press.

Thank you for your enthusiasm.

I'm new to Joan Grant's work and I find this topic fascinating. Has anyone read any of her books yet and can recommend a good place to start? Which of her books contains the most metaphysical information and not just an autobiographical sketch of one of her many lives?

Loved this interview, looking forward to second one. Had never heard of Joan Grant but just ordered Winged Pharaoh. Yeah, something tells me it'll be an inspirational read.

Thank you Regina for this interview and turning me on to Joan Grant. I'm ordering her books right away. Have you read Elizabeth Haich's Initiation? Very similar stories. Both wonderful.

Very interesting topic. I've experienced a regression therapy session myself, and I can verify that it's a powerful and enlightening form of therapy.
Thank you Regina and Jane

Very interesting interview.
Is there a way to find someone skilled in far memory regression to work with ?
Thank you

You might start your research right here on Gaiam by watching "Flipside" by Richard Martini. In this documentary, Rich investigates the work of Dr. Michael Newton, a researcher who has been studying past life regressions for 40 years. If you're attracted to what you see, it's likely not hard to find a Newton-trained therapist in your area to work with. In any event, it's a really good doc. You'll be interested, I think. Also, Rich was the guest on one of the "Beyond Belief" episodes. A Gaiam search on 'Martini 'should get you there. It's a good one. Have fun!

I respect the work of Brian Weiss - and he has authored some books in this category. Although he does not have certain skill that Joan had he is a good therapist and a fine man. He may be able to refer you to someone in your area.

You should be able to go to any good regressionist. You might begin asking around in your spiritual community. Regressionists are generally that's also a good place to begin looking. Good luck!
