Fall Seasonal Vinyasa Flow

Available worldwide

In Ayurveda, the fall season is associated with the dosha – uneven energy pattern – called Vata, which is composed of the elements Air and Space and which promotes movement. As essential as Vata is to our health, it can become chaotic during September through November, when Nature is in an unstable place. This class with Melina Meza embraces physical practices that complement the Vata elements of fall with grounding, stabilizing, warming, flow sequences and daily routines. Extra TLC is given to the legs, colon, lungs, and bones, where Vata can be in excess or depleted during fall.

Thank you, Melina, for this wonderful practice. I have been struggling with the changing season and today it hit me especially hard. I felt sluggish and moody until I stepped onto my yoga mat and wasn't expecting much, but this practice felt like a breath of fresh air. It instantly dissolved all the blocks within and now I feel blissfully at peace. The pace was perfect and the instructions crystal clear and soothing.

Thanks Melina. This is such a beautiful way to get into my body. I love it. There are some moments when I wish the individual exercises at the beginning could be a longer and maybe not so many if you are working with a time constraint. I feel like I barely get into them and they are over. Everything else was just perfect.

Good for AM - interesting and thoughtful warm up - perfect for me b/c I have been practicing awhile and know how to modify. I worry about beginners who read "all levels" and don't know how to protect knees and back or would know how to manage the more difficult poses.

Nice flow. I enjoyed the facts it is directed towards fall seasonal changes!

Hi Melina, thank you for this lovely, short practice. It's great for both early morning and later on in the evening when you don't want to wake yourself up too much before bed! Namaste~

Thank you! I imagine I will be doing this practice frequently this fall

PeacefulLainy, posted on September 19, 2011

Can the poses be modified for a prenatal practice? There is a limited amount of prenatal classes and it is hard not to crave the variety of a regular vinyasa practice. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have been feeling anxious, stiff, and I woke with a migraine. This practice was soothing and I felt so much better afterwards. Thank you!

I have been practicing this class for the last few mornings and it's been really great to get the joints warmed and moving freely at the start of the day. It's Autumn in Australia and this class feels like it's just what I need to center myself in this changing weather. Thankyou :)

I enjoyed this class, but about half of the time is spent in warm up/cool down. A longer version would be great!

This is a wonderful practice! For new or beginner practitioners, I would not call this level 1 however, just FYI. Thank you, Melina.
