Today on Meet the Planet, Deborah DeMayo of the National Parks Conservation Association talks about the Eagle Mountain landfill proposed by Kaiser Ventures to border Joshua Tree National Park. Kay Hazen, spokesperson for Kaiser Ventures talks about the history of the site of the proposed landfill and the ways in which the landfill would be managed and benefit local communities. Donna Charpied, a local farmer, talks about her battle to keep Kaiser Ventures from developing the Eagle Mountain Site. Assem Das talks about World Centric Renewable Resources mission of reducing environmental degradation and furthering environmental education.
