Unusual Cultures: Fez & Zimbabwe (2012)
We explore two different sides of today’s Africa. First, we visit the ancient Moroccan city of Fez, a city closely linked to Islam for more than 1,000 years. It has retained its medieval character of winding, narrow streets with artisanal workshops, bakeries and coffee houses. We then head south to Zimbabwe, a country that abounds in natural wealth and a rich history dating back to pre-history! At the same time, Zimbabwe has struggled for decades in its quest for political stability, which has made it impossible for the nation’s people to make the best use of their resources.
