Healthy Home: Flex House (2002)

Season 3, Episode 13
Only available in Canada, United States

Families change, people age and so do their needs when it comes to living space, but moving is not always an option. See a new concept in housing that allows easy conversions to adapt a home to a family’s changing requirements.

Avi Friedman designed the Grow Home, a home that can be added to or subdivided according to the homeowner’s needs. There are now more than 6,000 of these homes in Montreal alone.

When John Wyndels found an empty lot in a great neighborhood, he knew it was time to act on his dream. The wide open spaces of his home reflect John’s love for the prairies, and as well as being pleasing to the eye, the openness makes the home flexible enough to accommodate changing needs.
