Hi David,
ITs been a while- I'm the architect/yogi in Philadelphia. It's been a while and many life transitions but so glad to be strong and able to practice with you again. I love your pickle jar directions, in this practice and all your practices.

Be well,
Alice D.

I came back to this today & really enjoyed it. I found it easier than before & got (slightly) further in the arm balance before collapsing in a heap

Hi Jane! I guess it's like the Wright brothers first flight eh? A few minor crashes building up to some phenomenal flying. Congrats on all of the progress you made between October and November. :-)

I've been battling a bad cold all week and haven't had much energy to practice anything more than yin or hatha. Today was the first day I felt strong enough to do a vinyasa practice, and it was AMAZING! I feel like a new person. Thank you so much! :)

loved all the twists and forward bending. This practice is careful and slow and yet still intense. My favorite kind! With a lovely meditation at the end, this is has so many perfect ingredients! <3

Excellent Class. Thanks a lot David, for putting together this great practice. Both the workout and the meditaiton just took me to a different place. I am still sitting in the cross legged postition from the meditation with a wide smile on my face and peace in my heart.

@TheDollI You can definitely use this video if you want to get toned up! This video is more of a one-stop-shop, you can practice just this every other day for three weeks, as opposed to a new video every day. Happy toning! -Jaime and the MyYoga Team

pufftinmcghee, posted on December 20, 2013

Is this similar to the three week toning challenge?

How much did I love this practice? Let me count the ways: 1. detailed but not overly wordy instruction 2. beautiful and organic flow of poses 3. the sweat! 4. the tension release! 5. the wonderful meditation and body scanning at the end. This was a one stop shop class-going in my favorites. Thank you David!

Of course Amber!

With a little more time you might be able to push past the final 10 with yoga alone. However, since your deadline is impending, yoga practice alone simply won't help you burn enough calories to meet you goal.

I've never liked cardio much either, but I include it in my weekly practice because it strengthens the heart better than an active yoga practice can. The upside is that I actually find that taking a few days off per week to focus on cardio and strength training makes my yoga practice better. The body craves variety, and switching things up a bit can be a great way to avoid overuse injuries, strengthen weak spots and maintain healthy body weight.

Good luck!

thanks dav for your comments, sorry didn't realize I had put on both of them I couldn't find which of your videos I had put the post on, i thought it didn't go thru thanks for comments on both :)ill try it so you think doing yoga 7 days might not help me push the last 10 lbs?i should try doing other cardio.i have trouble doing other I just luv the hard yoga practices...ty for your words of encouragement . Namaste

pranavayu, posted on July 4, 2013

Thank you Amber! Congratulations on all of the progress that you've made. It's truly inspiring.

At this point, I'd recommend that you practice this sequence two times per week and add three days of at least 20 to 30 minutes of cardio training on your off days . The cardio can be anything that gets your heart pumping faster. I personally like to use kettlebells, but others like things like jogging, dancing or jumping rope.

If you wish to practice yoga on the days when you're doing cardio, you might consider a yin or slow hatha practice to give your body time to recover.

Hope that helps!

The yoga will help decrease food cravings and help you maintain the healthy habits that you've established and the cardio will help you burn enough calories to push past your plateau.

@lisagoncalves Thank you Lisa! Great to hear from you. @jlolo34 Hi J! It's hard to estimate exactly as it caloric expenditure can be variable due to a variety of conditions. Most online caloric calculators estimate anywhere between 500 and 700 calories for a practice like this.

jlolo34, posted on May 23, 2013

approximately how many calories does this practice burn for a female weighing 160lbs?
