Extreme Environments: Forest (2008)
Forests currently account for around 10 percent of earth’s surface. However, forests around the world are dwindling due to the demands of industry and an increasing population. Forests are important to the planet’s biosphere as they retain water, preserve soil quality, and provide habitat for many species of plant and animal life. We look at initiatives being embraced on every level around the world to combat the negative effects of our quickly reducing forests.
