Impact: The Forgotten Refugees of Myanmar (2010)
For more than 20 years, the ethnic Karen people have been caught in a civil war between the Myanmar junta and the Karen national army, which wants an independent Karen state known as Karenista.
Today, over 100 000 refugees, mostly Karen, live in Northern Thailand behind barbed wires. An entire generation has grown up there not knowing the meaning of freedom. Impact takes viewers into the heart of these refugee camps, and inside the borders of secretive Myanmar, to show how individuals from all walks of life are delivering hope in trying times.
