Each year thousands of tourists flock to the Alps or the French Riviera, but these magnificent areas could be in danger if temperatures keep rising. If scientists' predictions are correct, the region known as Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur (PACA) could soon look like North Africa.
Water is becoming increasingly rare in the known PACA region, with rivers becoming trickles, glaciers disappearing and vulnerable pine forests succumbing to fire. Rising sea levels have increased the number of toxic seaweeds and illness-bearing mosquitoes.
