Blue Reef Adventures: Giant Sleepy Sharks: The Shark Caves of Benguerra (1998)
Peter and Stefania Lamberti are drawn to the remote Bazaruto Archipelago off Mozambique in the hope of finding and filming the “giant sleepy sharks” – so called because of their extraordinary ability to breathe while at rest. Large numbers of these rarely seen sharks are rumored to inhabit the gullies and caves that riddle the reefs around the warm, shallow waters of the Archipelago. These formidable-looking sharks reach lengths of 9 feet. Yet they are among the most gentle, shy and elusive of creatures – but luck is with Peter and Stefania in their search for these unusual animals.
