In Trinidad with Troy Hadeed: Grow Roots to Get High

Episode 1
Available worldwide

This vinyasa class with Troy Hadeed is set in his home country of Trinidad. After warming up the body Troy takes a closer look at a sequence of back to back balancing poses. Balancing poses almost imply that one will be unstable. However, Troy teaches you to discover how to truly root through your foundation and plug into the energy that flows from the root upwards giving stability to your balancing poses. Off the mat Troy encourages you to reflect on the foundation of your character and find new inspiration in what you want to represent and stand for in your life.

Troy's classes are so grounding and well-balanced

I love Troy's videos. This was especially timely as I just completed a session in my ho,e studio yesterday on tree pose. I felt so successful and happy in these balancing poses- Troy's instruction is on target. It was so much what I needed as I have been reflecting on the loss of my father lately and the roots he gave me. Thank you.

I love Troy's videos. Slow, mindful, and sincere, as yoga should be. Thank you, Troy!

Blissful flow and wonderful linkage between breath, asana and off the mat grounding

Love love love the concept and bang on cueing that gets this essential part of asana across. I will remember the "inside of my hands" and to use "both sides of my feet" to root down more effectively. (May even borrow your language when teaching my own classes). Thank you for being such a gentle and supportive teacher. I feel great!

Troy's classes help me to deepen my practice and develop a true sense of WHY I practice yoga. Like most of us, when I started to practice yoga I was focusing only on the poses and how I could become "more" - more flexible, more bendy, more advanced, etc.. Troy's teaching style and commentary are helping me to recognize that the poses are there to serve my breath and heart....and through that, I do become "more": More ME; more of who I really am! As with all of his classes, this is a beautiful, meditative practice - full of wisdom and delivered with Troy's wonderful cues and reminders. The ambient sounds of Trinidad (the breeze, the birds) were a great background for calming my mind, focusing my breath, and connecting fully with my body. I have never felt so stable in Dancer's Pose! I am grateful to be able to learn from such a wonderful teacher. Thank you Troy and My Yoga!

I've followed a lot of your videos and the instruction that really resonates with me and has changed my practice so much is the simple guide of '3 second breath'. I've gone from rushing through my own practice to taking the time to observe my poses, transitions, train of thought, breath...I also love your philosophy that going deeper into a pose is not necessarily taking into the more advanced stage. Thank you for your wisdom and looking forward to lots more videos :)

My father, who grew up in Trinidad, would have been 80 years old today. I love that Troy was leading this class, which I thoroughly enjoyed, from there. The landscape, the sound of Troy's voice and this beautiful practice, which I dedicated to my dad, was the perfect way for me to honour his memory on this special day.
Thank you!

Love that Troy encourages getting back to basics. Grounding oneself in the universal reminds us all home is where the heart is. His approaches to yoga practice guide one to be true to what resonates in the soul.

A yoga practise guided by Troy Hadeed is a phenomenal experience. I close my eyes and follow along to his voice to emerge at the end incredibly grounded and free.

Enjoyed this practice so much, setting a strong foundation in life that is flexible was a great reminder to not be so rigid ! Thanks Troy!

I am so pleased to see the amount of focus Troy placed on physical adjustments and breath cues. He appears humble in that he is not showing us what he can do. On the contrary, he uses his cues to his students to guide and teach. Very impressed with this yogi! I will be thrilled to see more videos by him and hopefully some intermediate and advanced level classes as well! ~Namaste~

Hey Sara Jack thanks so much for the love. There are actually lots more videos coming very soon, some will definitely be more challanging but remember an advanced practice is not dictated by what poses we do, but how we do them :-) But i got you :-) Stay posted they will be live before you know it!! Always her if i can help in any way.

I like how you explain everything and remind us to stay with our breath. I love the feeling of being rooted and strong not only in my practice but off the mat as well. Thank you for the reminder and great practice.
I will be using this again in the future.

Love the way Troy leads you back and forth from body to mind to breath. He is amazing, authentic and spiritual. I feel great. Thank you

Plus I love that the students have a beautiful practice and they are different ages. Not the typical "model types" you see in a lot of videos. I felt at home.
