A bit disappointed. Was hoping for some deep stretches in the neck and shoulder. While I totally appreciate that strengthening these areas are part of healing them, I finished the 1.5 hr video with the same pinch/pain in my shoulder blade that I started with. Also, the partner work was lost on me as I, like most people who watch Gaia TV, was doing this video alone in my living room.

I find relief with all your classes and instruction. You are so informative in how we work through each pose.

This one I continue to come back and redo .... this class always reminds me of the importance to be aware of posture especially my neck and shoulders and back.

Again thank you for your commitment to helping us continue down a path that leads us to ease and health with less pain.

This is a great video for anyone who works on technology a lot! I think it might be helpful to train yourself to sit up correctly the way Ashleigh discusses at a wall. It's hard to know where the center of gravity is and I found that I was setting my shoulders and heart too far back behind my pelvis until I sat with my back right up against a wall. Then I could feel the alignment of head, heart, and pelvis more properly. Added bonus on this one is that if you are working on forearm stand, the segment with the blocks and dolphin pose is extremely helpful for getting the alignment of forearms, shoulders, and neck. Thanks Ashleigh!

Thank you Ashleigh. I have been suffering with TMJ Tinnitus, Shoulder joint rotator cuff pain and herniated disks.

This was truly a blessing and help, I am looking forward to visiting some of your other classes.

Thanks you, Sharon

Thanks for this class Ashleigh. I woke up at 5.30am on a chilly Autumnal morning in the UK and joined in this class. I feel taller and more open in my heart. I have a question. I always use Ujayi breath throughout my practice and felt that the slight restriction in my throat didn't allow for the complete opening of the throat but I'm so used to using this breath I couldn't connect with another breath. Any suggestions? Thank you, Julie

This is a super effective release for the neck and shoulders. Wow - what a difference just one practice makes. I will definitely be putting this into the rotation since I work an office job and have a lot of tension from sitting at a computer all day.

This is an amazing class. Anyone going from the constant tv watching, computer, driving slouch position full tilt into a daily yoga practice could use this teaching. I started my practice 12 years ago and am just now figuring out how to free my neck and shoulders with this work. Thanks Ashleigh!

I've been doing the shorter neck/shoulders therapeutics class and have found such relief from neck/shoulder pinching! I was waiting to have more time to try this one. It's amazing. My alignment and posture are so much better since incorporating these classes into my weekly schedule and the best part - no more neck/shoulder pain. Thank you!

This is the best my shoulders, chest and neck have felt in years...and I mean years! I can't say enough about this opening/strengthening practice . I am humbled by your knowledge and intuition about the spinal system Ashleigh.... Thank you for sharing this brilliant practice!

Thank you for this

LOVE this! If I have a headache even just doing the first 15 minutes of this gets rid of it!

gordyfancypants, posted on August 2, 2013

I loved this video so much, it inspired my yoga teaching for a whole week. Head and neck positioning are often overlooked as we refine our spinal alignment. I really appreciated your concept of aligning my head and throat with the intentions of my heart. My head can go so crazy down the negative road. Thank you Ashleigh!

Super! Super! Super as usual! So gentle yet effective! My shoulders feel wonderful and my neck is no longer clicking. I may have to make this at least a once a week practice. I have really enjoyed and thrive with all of your videos here. Thank you.

Love this practice. Just what my neck and shoulders need, I'll be doing this one regularly. Reminds me a lot of a neck and shoulder workshop I did a while back. Excellent cues and communication, I hardly looked at the video itself. Thank you!

Nerves in neck, shoulders, upper and even lower back start firing about 15 minutes into this practice - this is easily one of the hardest practices for me; the challenge to keep neck, shoulders and hips aligned at all times, especially during any arms/shoulders back & out/up pose. Nervous system just keeps unloading....it makes binds & bird of paradise feel like a cake walk by comparison. But though the challenge is great, the payoff is shockingly good - the positive after effects stick with me for over 24 hours after. Doing twice a week minimum along with my Vinyasa practices. Thank you!

Thank-you. Got so much out of this class and feel so different now, from the shoulders up.
More lightness, more balance.
I will be doing this practice again.
Interesting the psychology behind shoulders-head forward. Never thought of it this way before.

OMG LOVE LOVE LOVE this class! Most relaxation I've had in Savasana in a very long while, most likely due to the proper alignment of my upper body for once. Namaste, namaste, namaste...

I feel taller after this practice! This is definitely going to be in my weekly routine. It will help strengthen my neck and put the curve back into it. Thank you!

Hi Ashleigh- I really enjoyed your class. I find your teaching style to be so refreshingly clear and bring a relaxed awareness to your classes. I like your attention to detail, precision, and commitment. Felt very safe in your classes. Love it! I have a question re. gaining flexibility in my upper back. I'm petite and have a very flexible lower back, and I move from my low back/hips. How can I safely open and stretch the upper back, without activating the lower back? Thank you so much! Your classes really are great, I feel like I'm with a real pro who really knows her stuff. -Emily

Anyone got a hair elastic to lend to the teacher?

NicoleKennedy, posted on June 19, 2012

Not a fan. Did not always "get " the cues there were so many of them.

energiayoga, posted on June 17, 2012

Interesting practice. Felt a bit stressed in the neck though.....Teacher is a wealth of information but there were waaayyyyyy too many "um" & "so'" in her dialogue.

sunshinesask, posted on June 16, 2012

that was amazing. the allignment principles and cues were exactly what i needed, and this video will be in my regular rotation. many thanks and much light

Thank you. I plan to do this frequently to make space in my body and align, head, throat and heart on and off the mat.
