Hit ‘n Strum (2011)

Not available in Canada

Worlds collide when Stephanie takes a wrong turn and runs down Mike, a scruffy homeless street busker, in Vancouver's gritty downtown Eastside. As Mike gets to his feet, Stephanie panics and peels away, leaving the scene and her conscience behind her. The next day while walking to work she is shocked to see Mike playing guitar in front of her office building.

Stephanie soon realizes that Mike has been playing there every day, and she has never once taken the time to look down and acknowledge him. For the first time ever she is forced to stop and listen, and in his music makes a beautiful discovery – a discovery and a friendship that may forever change both of their lives.

It's a shame this film is not available in Canada because it is a jewel.

We enjoyed this one a lot! The songs are really good, well written, and performed. Great story too. Did I say we enjoyed it? ; )

Come to think of it, I have watched a few movies on Gaiam so far and have enjoyed everyone. Thank you for the quality.

I can believe this film is not available in Canada for what it stands for and they do not want ones to think they have Street people in there region lol

Maybe they should take up music and unwind there inner abilities to be heard as Mike did
Life is so much more than what we all have been living but to all our advantages were climbing to the Top every last ONE of US not just the few:) :) :)

So realistic. Unlike the Hollywood shows put on for us. Life is not always the ending we envision. such as guy gets girl or girl gets guy at the end. Plus the spiritual content goes without saying to those who get. Hope you got it. Loved it! Thank you.

I especially like the fact that a musician wrote, directed and starred in a film that featured his own music. It's inspiring. Totally authentic. All the actors are great. The shots of real homeless people singing and playing music on the street gives this film yet another authenticity. The LIVE recorded musical performances on camera were also perfect. Congratulations.
