Let‘s All Go to the Beach: Karachi, Pakistan (2007)
Dressed in their finest clothes, armed with their best table-ware and a prayer mat, the Mushtaq family take a taxi to the beach, just a few kilometers from Karachi. At last, a little peace and quiet, but always under the watchful eye of the imams, who have their work cut out for them.
For at the end of the obedient public beach lies the French Beach, a private and expensive place which, behind its walls, appears as a den of iniquity: bikinis, rave parties, you name it. The confrontation of tradition and modernity meet by the sea.
