I am a physician and I would not advise that headstand at home. It is best practiced, if at all, in a class with supervision. I am not sure if the cervical spine can take so much axial loading especially when degenerative changes set in inevitably after 45yrs of age or so, earlier now with the omnipotent computer lifestyle. Vertebral artery dissection can have disastrous consequences. There are other contraindications which everybody should be aware about.
Not trying to discourage anybody but a safe practice is of prime importance.

I've been suffering from a tight neck and pain in my shoulders, topped with some headache; so great I found this sequence, I'm saved. Thank you, Ashleigh!

With a tight neck, a class of inversions and hanging upside down was just what I needed. Although it was a bit advanced for my level during the tripod headstand, her cues were great, I continued to participate, and I was still relaxed ... not stressed in a position I don't yet know. Thanks for a great practice.

This was a fantastic practice that allows for a safe exploration of inversions. Ashleigh's cues are excellent, as always, and I love the long-standing poses that precede the headstand and shoulder stand crescendo, building a bit of heat in the body while cultivating a clear one-pointed focus to take with us into the inversions. Thank you, Ashleigh! Namaste.

So nice to finally see a yoga class from one of the regular teachers from MYO! Beautiful tree form backdrop and color scheme made this a very pleasant video visually to watch! I really appreciate the stage design and I hope that you will continue to make creative and artistic scenes for the classes. I hope to see more MYO teachers soon, especially in some level 2-3 or level 3 classes! You can do it GAIAM!

Ashleigh, thank you. I think it is the ultimate compassionate delivery of a class when direction is coming from the teacher who is actually experiencing the asana with the class. This allows the timing and awareness to match the where-we-are-RIGHT-NOW of the flow. Ashleigh delivered this practice with profound attention and care, and even though it felt to me like an advanced practice (I experienced probably half a dozen new awarenesses and spaces in "familiar" asana), she offered it with direction and precision that any beginner could follow. I felt so comfortable and at ease even while working my little sacrum off ! Powerful, fun, valuable, and peaceful practice. Deep gratitude. Namaste.

Lovely practice, which of course you expect from Ashleigh. Almost like she's watching knowing when you're resting on teh thigh or need a reminder to engage the legs :-)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am living with a cold right now, and after 2 days of really trying to nurture and restore my body, this practice was exactly what I needed to give me a "lift". I felt a definite increase in my energy; I feel elongated and lighter. It is always such a nice gift to find one of your practices here Ashleigh. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us. Namaste.

It's always great when there's a practice by Ashley. I especially love the hanumanasana series, and would love more series by ashley. Thank you Ashley for a lovely inversion focused practice.

I am so glad to hear that there will be more videos from Ashleigh. I am really missing some of the original "My Yoga Online" instructors. I'm excited to see more from Ashleigh, but I would also love to see more from Cameron Gilley, David Magone, Nico Luce, Ryan Leier, Troy Hadeed , Mara Branscombe, and Kreg Weiss. These are the instructors that got me interested in My Yoga/Gaia in the first place. I am hoping that they will continue to contribute to the Gaia online community.
