Massage and Release Work on the Foam Roller

In this massage and release class with Anita Seiz, we’ll first move through a foam roller massage sequence that will melt away superficial tension holding. Then we’ll focus on releasing tension in our global joints – shoulders & hips. This will create more range of motion and provide greater access to core connectivity.

Great for relaxing and releasing. Perfect as a cooling down sequence or as preparation for any other Pilates or Yoga practice. Self massage technique. Easeful opening: gravity does the work for us in opening our chest/shoulders and hips.

The roller is a dynamic surface and as such, falling is a risk. Good thing we’re not far from the floor!

Please move slowly and mindfully to prevent excessive wobbling.

Hello! Thanks for your feedback & question.
The type of floor you're on can play a factor . If I'm on carpet I don't use a yoga mat - the carpet provides me with enough cushion. If I'm on a wood floor I use a mat that doesn't wrinkle up. These mats have a bit of stick that stabilizes them on a wood surface. Your mat may not have this stick quality - makes it tough to use the foam roller!

Amazing! I get really tight from working at a computer all day. This is great for tension. One question though - I had trouble using the roller with my yoga mat. The mat kept rolling with it and making wrinkles. Is there a way to keep it from doing it?

I loved everything about this video...Anita was great. I have a twisted pelvis, which is limiting my ROM in my right hip. Once very flexible, this issue has made some yoga & Pilates movements very to mention every day motion. Thank you Anita, I hope to continue using this video and find relief!

I agree 100% with jojo2012. This video is amazing. I spent 3 1/2 hours putting up horse fencing yesterday and this video was so wonderful for helping to massage all my achey muscles. Oh PLEASE more of these!! I just love this vid and have been doing it once or twice a week since it came out. Anita's super soothing voice and wonderful instruction makes it a delicious experience I look forward to and it is just what my tense/tight body craves :) As a CPT, I really appreciate the clear & informative directions, explaining the planes of the body and the movements. Wonderful! I've had a foam roller for a while, but use it sporadically because it is painful. This class was a wonderful release without causing too much pain. I will definitely be doing this as part of my running routine.
