Into Me See (2003)

Available worldwide

Six years after the breakup of their relationship, Fredrick is contacted by Catherine, the love of his life, whom he has not seen in the six years since the breakup. Their meeting turns into much more than expected as they examine the past and the feel the spark of enduring love. Will Fredrick leave his wife to renew his connection with Catherine, or is it time to release the past once and for all?

Into Me See presents us with the challenges we all face with intimate relationships. By allowing us a "fly on the wall" perspective of a reunion between a man and woman who come together for a day of healing after six years of separation, we gain valuable new insights into the process of letting go.

They were "following each other lives" through those 22 years, he was coming back to the bench to think about her regularly, he says their reltionship was the most important in his life.. and he makes a movie about the love of his life., who is NOT his wife.

Well, wasn't he emotionally betraying his wife all those years??? Emotional betrayal is much worse than physical one.

And the wife invites the love of her husband to the premiere of his movie.
She chooses to accept that there was another woman in her husbands mind and heart all of this time.
Usually this happens when a woman wantsto free herself from the ideal image of " the other woman". Meeting "the other woman" helps to demystify her, and then it's easier to deal with the real person than with idealistic image.

But here the wife is thanking Catherine. It's just too much.
What this movie shows here is not a real life. In the real life the wife would never accept such a thing, unless she also had her own love story with another man..

.. just proposing another point of view here, to the contrary of all those previous comments..

I read at least most of Neal's books several years ago (all I could find through my library). I missed noticing Neal's name going into the film. The foreshadowing mention of the book did not escape me, but I was still clueless about what was to come. So I was really clobbered by the last segment! What a shock and surprise! Now I am just buzzing! Maybe time to review the notes I took when reading the books! I am glad now I didn't realize Neal was involved beforehand.

Lovely movie, it really touched my heart, and leaves me with my own bitter sweet feelings of a relationship that changed so much in me.

I enjoyed the movie. It was a good reminder of the influence that others have in the shaping of our lives, though most of us don't get the chance to go back and discuss it in this way. I found it very interesting and thought provoking.

feelings only deepen over time ~ some things resolve & some things dissolve ~ hearts gain strength when betrayals turn to trust

When a movie takes me through my entire range of emotions and sets me safely down deeper in my heart, I know it was worth the time... I, too, have lived this story in a way. I am now remarried to my first husband, after a 29 year separation. No broken hearts left in our wake, just a golden orb which surrounds us and attracts others from time to time to be inspired... Thank you!

Thanks, for making this movie, Neale. I was thrilled to see it available and couldn't wait to watch it to see how the story turned out. I have considered writing this story, but I haven't been able to imagine the end, so can't get past the first few chapters. Not only has this been a chapter in my life, it was my parents' story, which has always seemed to me to have been a failure of courage---the courage to stand up for what they truly wanted, the courage to stand up for me, the courage to leave their unhappy, unsatisfying lives to take a chance on their love. So I still want to write the story with a different ending. Since I can't quite get to the novel yet, I've written it in a book of poetry which I've called Sandcastles. That will have to satisfy me for now. Thanks, again! It was heartening to know that many others share this experience. I always love Gibran's thought in The Prophet our joy can only been as deep as our sorrow. That's how this feels.

Heart felt, message is allow yourself the time to heal and anything is possible.

What a healing film for those who have had the experience! Neale you're a genius. I start to watch it, once, and like veggie210, thought it wasn't going to be worth watching. Then, out of lack of anything better to do, started watching it again-months later. I'm glad I saw it all the way through-kind of like a lot of things you start, in life.

Through experiences I was both Katherine and Frederick. Movie was right on target.

I know there was a message in there, but the movie was a snooze fest!
