Journeys to the Ends of the Earth: The Mysteries of the African Pharohs (2001)
On the river Nile lays a realm that has existed since the dawn of time. It is a civilization, spanning over 5,000 years, that at one time ruled all of the lands of Egypt. The remains of its temples and pyramids line over 1,000 miles of the Nile River running through Sudan.
By boat, bus and train, David Adams makes his way along this stretches. He stops along the way to take in the local culture. It is always like stepping back in time, just into different eras. Though there are more pyramids in Sudan, they are rarely seen due to tourists’ obsession with Egypt. David brings to light these forgotten ruins and highlights the powers that brought them into being.
