Season 2, Episode 10

It can be difficult for many of us to recognize the greatness we hold within and accept those moments in life when we are called upon to let our light shine through. After two Near Death Experiences and a long walking mediation, John St. Augustine came to understand that we all can choose to live fully by accepting responsibility for what goes through us. He shares these life-changing experiences and the wisdom he gained in this poignant interview with George Noory originally webcast September 6, 2013.

John St. Augustine, author of Every Moment Matters and Living an Uncommon Life, is considered to be one of the most influential voices on the radio. He is the voice of over 6,500 one-minute vignettes called, Powerthoughts!, and was the senior producer behind Dr. Mehmet Oz's, Jean Chatzky's, and Bob Greene's shows.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I also want to thank you for the multiple synchronicity's with your story that confirmed many things for me and the path I am walking. I especially appreciated the stories of the ceremonies and experiences with the indigenous people. This mirror's my journey and gave me direction. It was those ceremonies with the people of my indigenous roots that helped me begin my awakening. Much Gratitude and blessings to you.

Well, no wonder he got thumped, or tapped by God, because he doesn't believe that we are a
creation of a CREATOR. God, is our creator and we are the co - creator of our lives. I have experienced
wayyy more than this dude. He acts like he has all the "right answers" and he does not. He had a couple
spiritual experiences that weren't as profound as other people. He didnt go anywhere, just above his body
so of course he doesn't believe there is anything else more important than him. He only got a basic lesson.
There is far more , that he does not know. I am a psychic medium and have experienced spirits, I have had
dreams come true, I have left my own body twice, I got to feel what God's Love really is....that is a true blessing.
There is nothing even remotely close to Heavenly Love. Earthly Love is limited....God's love is unlimited, all -
encompassing, within and around, is pure and total unconditional love. God let me feel that powerful love
for a reason, maybe it's for just me to know, but I share my experiences, lived in a haunted house...seen ufo's
I mean it became obvious to me, eventually I figured it out. I cant say no to God. I answered his call, finally.
I have heard a lot of bizzare stories and ideas that iv'e disagreed on. And im not afraid of conflict, I will tell it
the way I believe. Some people get pissed off, I don't care, im not here to please everyone :P Just sayin...ha

Another astounding episode. As one who has come into this life carrying with her the knowledge of some of her previous past lives, we are at a
critical time. I believed since childhood that I had come to assist in the planetary consciousness shift/transformation and yet knowing we had
lost everything, every bit of knowledge we had due to our own mistaken misuse of our own knowledge that set in motion the destruction of past civilizations.
I am uncertain as to whether we will all awaken to prevent the path we are on...

At 6:56 John mentions how his accident triggered a greater psychic ability for 6-7 months after his first accident, after which it gradually faded.

I experienced this as well after I suffered a sudden freak accident in which my pelvis was fractured in 4 places (was in a cemetery and a tombstone fell on me). Just like John, I was 19 at the time. After the accident, I had clear psychic dreams which would predict the next day's events; the people, places and things that I would encounter. And just like John, this ability eventually faded over the course of the following year. I have often wondered if the massive trauma to my body triggered this ability – that it is a survival instinct that was set off by my accident – and that when my body sensed that I was no longer in danger it slowly turned it off.

This all begs the question, are there less traumatic yet equally effective ways of turning this ability back on? It was awesome to be briefed ahead of time regarding the next day's events.

Great interview John ... learned so much about your journey and what you've learned from it! George is an outstanding interviewer. The flow felt effortless and a real conversation developed. I felt like it happened in my living room among friends. Bravo!

Interesting interview! John has survived different adversities and reminds us that our responses to life events, big or small, shape not only us but the people around us.

I would like to thank both George and John, for this interview, I could find my self listening to the show, and tell myself - well if this is the inner call to go out and do -then a person must follow his/her own inner voice and do something with it.....
its been there long enough -so thanks to hearing your show -I understood something deeper that lays there and waited to be called.
thanks you both!!

I used to listen to him on Oprah Radio and was bummed when they took him off the air couple years ago-so was my surprise when I tuned in and found him with George Noory. I wish there were more like him in the world people that don't just preach some worn out new age stuff but relates his real life experiences in a way that is more profound. If there was a Gaiam radio channel I know millions of people would benefit from his wisdom.

John St. Augustine. The name makes it sound like he should have his own holy order, but John is a regular, funny guy from Chicago who just happens to have had some of the most bizarre, life-altering experiences a human could ever have. He’s a fascinating mix – a visionary in jeans with a Midwestern accent, a businessman who struck out on a cross-country trek with Native American friends, an organ donor who first healed the organ he donated of a genetic disease. He’s sensitive enough to hear spirits but tough enough to have survived two deaths. Best of all, he’s a spiritual seeker who likes his beer and hot dogs. He fills you with belief while at the same time remaining humbled and seemingly awed that all of this could be happening to him. One of my favorite writers and speakers!

That was really fun. watching from Chiccagoland, I could really relate to his energy, although I do not think It matters where I am from. John was so down to Earth, and truthful and sincere and he made so many great points. Describes the life journey we are on, or where I personally fing myself. Thank you John, and thank you Gaiam.
