The New Space Race with Dr. Sky

From the moment the space race began in 1955, we have been in infatuated with exploring space. That is until manned missions became routine and uninspiring. Even with astounding advances in technology, there is still little interest in supporting ambitious and exciting projects. Steve Kates, aka Dr. Sky, explains how privatization will reignite our interest in space exploration by spawning a new space race in this interview with George Noory.

Steve Kates got his first experiences with astronomy as a child and has been engaged in the science of Astronomy for well over thirty years. He is the President of Dr.Sky.com,Inc., a multimedia company that specialized in Astronomy, Space, Aviation and Weather productions. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, he produces a variety of science educational programs for both radio/TV, and is the host of two radio shows: the Dr. Sky Show on 92.3FM News Talk, and A Call to Rights, on News Talk 1100 AM.
