In the year 1119 AD the Order of the Temple of Solomon was founded in Jerusalem by a band of nine Christian knights who had vowed to protect pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land. I wish people who want to make documentaries about the Crusades would at least learn the history first. This starts out saying the Crusades took over the Muslim city of Jerusalem after the first Crusade, but leaves out that 300 years earlier the Muslims took it from the Christians. The Crusades were actually a response to Islam conquering Christian territory for a 300 year period, buy force, until they had taken all of north Africa, and even southern France. It was then the church decided they'd had enough of the aggression and formed the first crusade to drive the Islamists out. If your going to do a documentary on the crusades start at the actual beginning,.

Then within 3 minutes of the start, they say the leaders were burned alive and all wealth seized. fact is the wealth was NOT seized, most of it was never found. The pope had ordered the wealth transferred to the Hospitalers. a branch of the Templars that cared for injured and sick .

Toward the end they say "after liberating the holy land" Since when do the armies that took it in the first place get to claim they "liberated" it after retaking it from the people they took it from first? This video is a fraud at best, full of errors , anti-Christian and pro-Islamic pap. Nothing more.
A waste of time

I enjoyed this series. There is a balanced academic look at the Templars, as well as a more open-minded version of history that includes at least some of the point of view from Islam. Many academics from a wide variety of universities around the world are interviewed throughout the series, adding insight and different viewpoints. Well done and engaging.
